Final Reflection Essay In English 111 I have struggled with many assignments over the course of the semester, picking myself up over time from countless mistakes on papers, to procrastinating on basic class work assignments. Before Fall semester, I had no idea what college would be like, or how hard it could be. Things were not the same as high school; it was different to a point where college seemed a lot harder than it was supposed to be. In English 111, I got the chance to meet new students and different professors that have helped guide me to success throughout the semester.

Participation in class has been no problem for me over the semester. I have only missed one day for English 111 and as for my other classes I have only missed certain credit hour days due to reasons I could not help. I try coming to class prepared with my Little Seagull Handbook and They Say I Say book. I enjoy taking notes as my professor talks in class, lecturing of certain assignments that needs to be done. The MEAL plan is a writing strategy used for the making of your outline and final paper. The MEAL plan is broken up into pieces from main idea, evidence, examples, analysis, and link. I have struggled with making outlines since senior year and have not done so well in early outlines for English 111. Following the little Seagull Handbook for the MEAL plan has helped me enormous amounts when it came to my writings. I found myself putting more time into my papers for English, displaying more effort than when I was in high school. I have used the Little Seagull Handbook for all major papers from the rhetorical analysis, to my argumentative paper for English.
