English 111 was the first class English class that I have taken since my senior year of high school in 2004. When I first signed up for the class I figured it was going to be a bit difficult with reading assignments, I was not expecting to be writing 3 to 5 papers every other week which I found to be hard at first. Within the first couple of weeks of the class I quickly learned that I had to be able to manage my time carefully between work, home, and school or that I was not going to do well at all. At first I found this to be hard due to my career in law enforcement, working 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks nights makes it extremely hard to get anything done. I was extremely excited when I began to write the assignment and quickly knew the topic that I was going to use. I decided to compare two of the best basketball player in the game; LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Once I had gather the information and player stats, I began to write my paper. I felt great while writing the paper and the words seemed to flow perfectly into paragraphs allowing me to complete the assignment rather quickly. Once I was finished with the assignment and I reviewed it I felt great about my work. I then submitted the assignment to Turnitin and waited for the instructor to review it. Several days later after submitting the assignment I saw a point score of 8 and was extremely pleased and excited with the grade. I then reviewed the notes and corrected some minor changes to the assignment and submitted the final paper for my grade and again was pleased with the work I had finished. During the semester of English 111 I found that out of all the assignment the instructor gave us, the final cause and effect assignment seemed to give be trouble. When I began to read the requirement for the paper I noticed that one of the topics involved problems in the community. At first this seemed to be easy but I later began to notice the assignment might become boring to some reader’s. After finishing the assignment I felt good with the outcome but knew that I could have written a better paper. This was obvious after the instructor reviewed the assignment and gave me a grade that hit hard. This showed me first hand that I was a good writer but was far from being prefect. After picking myself up, I reviewed the notes she provided and made the suggested changes. I then resubmitted the assignment in hopes the changes were correct and I would get a final grade that I knew I was capable of earning. After waiting the final grade was submitted and I had earned a grade I knew I could earn. I know that without the help of my peers and the instructor this would have not been
