1. Diversity is defined as “the condition of having or being composed of differencing elements” (Webster Dictionary). Through my clinical experiences I have seen a lot of diversity whether it be different ethnicity, the family culture/make-up or students living with disabilities in the classrooms. Specifically, in my urban clinicals I saw more ethnicity and culture diversity differences between student to student and student to teacher relationships. However, in my suburban school clinical experiences I also saw diversity, but in a different way. Here I saw much more diversity in family make-up.
2. Working as an after-school childcare supervisor I have encountered a variety of individuals and families with different experiences. One

When Kristina and Brandon got married they decided to open a CrossFit Prevail Gym in McHenry Illinois. Brandon dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast then headed out the door to get to the gym to coach the 5am WOD class at the gym then head to his job afterward. When Brandon left it was 4:45am Kristina lied back down and fell back to sleep. When the second alarm went off at 6:45am Kristina found a little munchkin in bed with her it was Chase. He had snuck into her room to give her morning cuddles. After morning snuggles both Kristina and Chase got up and went to wake the girls for school. Running in and jumping on his sisters Chase finally awoke them and they all headed down stairs for breakfast. While all three children ate their cereal and watch cartoons. Kristina went up to take a quick shower and dress herself to take the kiddos to school. After finishing their cereal, the three children all went upstairs to get dressed. Madison the oldest dressed herself, made herself a lunch and packed her bag for school. As Madison was finishing packing her bag Makenna came down the stairs to pack her bag. After dressing Chase Kristina came down stairs to help her children. Kristina made Makenna a lunch and packed Chase a snack for preschool. “Get your shoes on” Kristina yelled as she turned off the lights and television. By the time that everyone got out of the house and into the car
Diversity is something described between the differences of two individuals. Diversity means that all individuals showed be respected and valued, therefore you must be aware of the individual’s differences and must not barricade the way they have been cared for. It is you knowing and looking after an individual with full understanding of the difference in their personal characteristics. It is also when you encourage those differences and use them in different cohesive communities and in an effective work force. It is important that you recognise that each
Some say love is blind. I would like to disagree. When a person falls in love with another surely, they are aware of that individuals many characteristics such as gender, race, and age. And I believe it’s those very differences which attracted people to one another. This belief of mine made the concept of Diversity Awareness very interesting to me. Within this paper, I will describe and explain why I found the Diversity Awareness concept most important to me, the implications of not applying the concept, the actions I will take to apply the concept, and the impact this new insight will have on my supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
Over the past 25 years, society has shifted dramatically in a new direction. The demographic makeup of the United States continues to change drastically. Because of this change, everyone will be required to become increasingly aware of the people in their surroundings. Some may argue that diversity is based on gender, sex, creed, origin, or some other form of tangible trait however; diversity is much more than that. The American Nurses Association produces the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing. This publication has written several scholarly articles about diversity and healthcare. The article, Many Faces, Campinha-Bacote, states “Diversity. It is a word that means something different to each and every person”. What a great definition. As I continue to do research I am seeing more and more information about diversity and other people’s definition of what it is. One website I came across while compiling this research included http://www.diversityrx.org/ This particular site is devoted to providing resources to the community and healthcare employees about trends in diversity. This website is for anyone interested in cultural diversity issues. Healthy People 2010, is a ten-year

The main issue faced by the Tech companies is that the referral candidates are not serving the purpose and they can’t find talented minority candidates suitable to their companies. The company is focussing on diversifying the whole organization by filling the non-technical roles as well like finance, marketing,
The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
How do people behave? What makes us act the way we do? There are as many different answers as there are people. Each person is a unique makeup of individual characteristics which blend together to form the personality, the behavior of the person. We can identify certain broad characteristics of groups of people and apply them to individuals to get an idea of how they will behave in a given situation. This is called stereotyping and, when taken too far, will give a distorted picture of what to expect of a persons behavior. While you can never get a fully accurate picture of how someone will behave based on their demographics and characteristics, you can make certain general guesses that will point
Behavior is best defined as the unique behaviors, emotions and thought processes of an individual including the way that he or she interacts with others. While much of behavior may be thought to be innate, there are also external factors that can impact an individual's behavior. These factors have diversity and demographic characteristics; four of these factors will be discussed in this paper and the impact each has on individuals will be shown. Religion, personality traits, age and gender are thought to have the greatest impacts and therefore providing the best opportunity for discussion.

Coming from a small town community where there is only a single stoplight and everyone personally knows each other, diversity is not something that is experienced every day. Every year since kindergarten I have been going to school with the same group of friends who share the same socio-economic status as me and the only real diversity that the school has to offer is the one or two foreign exchange students that it is able to bring in for that year. Simply being put diversity is not present in everyday life for most of my classmates.
Diversity- is the condition of having or being composed of differing elements and/or varieties especially the inclusion of different types of people (such as people of different races or cultures) in a group or organization
Diversity is defined as “a state of being different” however, the meaning extends further than just culture and race. It is a concept which revolves around acceptance and respect. Understanding each individual, their tradition, their belief, their uniqueness, and their importance in the community builds up the true meaning of diversity.

Learning to become a leader takes a lot of patience and time to understand that each individual are different and have unique talents that can be useful for the organization. After reading chapter 9, a leader needs to go deeper to learn and understand to each individual that is his or her diversity. Also, a leader needs to include every individual to participate in the activities or meetings. The chapter contains the explanation, the history, practice, and barriers of both diversity and inclusion. I will share my reflection about understanding and using diversity and inclusion to become a better leader.
