No matter which type of job or career the author is looking for, a resume is a great first step. Generally, resumes are built and created in early adulthood by the author them self. There are a few things that can be assumed about the authors. First, they are middle to upper class individuals who like to show off their own personal qualifications, education, and academic and professional experiences they have obtained throughout their life. The audience in which will be looking over these resumes could be a pretty broad range generally speaking, but for the most part whoever the author is submitting the resume to will be the intended audience for this genre. I think it is safe to say this genre will be around for many years to come, …show more content…
The example of the author wanting to become a teacher states, “Excellent background and proven success in helping children reach their full potential” (O’Neill). This statement clearly states that she has been a teacher in the past and has proof that she has helped her students to success and reach their full potential. Not only are the qualifications important but also the education in which the author has had. Under the education portion of the content it tells the audience where the author went to school and which type of degree they earned at the school and in what year. Another category placed on a resume is the academic and professional experience the author has had prior to creating their resume. The author who is applying for a business job placed under her academic and professional experience that she was a part of All Talk Radio in Terre Haute, Indiana where she was the Vice President of Marketing. The author states while being a part of All Talk Radio she increased the audience of student-run radio station 40 percent by establishing 13 member marketing department (Kim). In stating this, the author is showing the audience that she can make an impact on the company in which she is applying for. Although the content of the genre is important the structure of the genre is also important for the author to take into consideration. The structure of a resume starts off with the authors name, which is bolded and large in font to catch the

I approached my genre writing based on Writing in the Health Sciences guidelines for research papers. Since my chosen paper was a research paper, I looked for the sections in a research paper that included the abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and references. This helped me decide what needed to be in each section so I could elaborate on if it was included or was not.
Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.
While building my resume, I learned that creating a positive image depends on whether I present a well-prepared and written resume. I also learned that my resume should be structured in a way that is well-organized and well written to show my personal positive attributes. Therefore, I put my areas of expertise at the top. Some employers don’t have the time to search for expert areas in a 3-page resume.

Gordimer knew how to put everything in place to make it be called a “children’s story” Also, she the setting of the story in a good neighborhood, just people

The musical film has always held a special place for me. From my time as a drama student in high school, my eyes have been opened to the amazing world of the musical and especially the musical film. The musical film is a film genre in which the characters sing songs that are integrated into the overall story. Since musicals first began in theaters, musical films usually contain similar elements. These elements often simulate that there is a live audience watching. In a sense, the film viewers become the audience members, at a theater production, as the actor performs directly to them. Due to the popularity of musicals in the theater, the style was quickly brought over into film. In 1927, the musical film genre began
After reading the article, “Authorship and Genre” written by Kitses, it explores why the western genre in American cinema became so popular. Western films explored places that have been explored, which made the audience feel like they are exploring this vast new land. In western films, you can see a slow growth of social forms such as how someone should react after saying something. Additionally, western films tend to display the struggle of good and evil, such a wanted man saving the town from the bad guys. Kitses argued “[…] its being placed at exactly that moment when options are still open” (pg. 186) meaning during that period there was more freedom in expression in American life and culture.

Genre analysis is an attempt to explain why members of specific discourse communities employ different and special ways of using language. Sociocultural aspects of language and existing differences among the contexts in which a language is used may, to some extent, answer this question. In addition, cognitive strategies applied by the speakers or writers may also play a role since the members of each language community use different strategies to achieve their desired goals (Bhatia, 1996). According to a definition given by Martin (1985), "genres are how things get done, when language is used to accomplish them". As implicitly found in this definition, any genre analysis must be a detailed description of linguistic elementsof a specific
Your résumé and cover letter must put you in the best light possible and stand out above the rest. Not because you’ve included bright graphics, but because the words make you leap off the page as someone the reader wants to meet and eventually hire for this job. You should clearly be the best person for the job.
There are many ways to supplement a story in order to add lucidity. It is done through literary devices and Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried" is no different. "The Things They Carried" is a narrative about a soldier at war in Vietnam. However, this story provides multiple layers of meaning through O'Brien's tone and style that help the reader further understand it. Both of these literary devices are embedded in the story and gradually help define it.
In the short story, “My Parents’ Bedroom,’ written by Uwem Akpan, the most defining role of literacy that sticks out is symbolism. The images that are engraved into readers brains are ones that have deeper meanings than what we initially see on the surface. The story is told through the eyes of a little girl named, Monique, who is only nine years old. It is told in first person point of view so that the reader feels as if he/she is actually experiencing the situations first hand. The symbolism in the story, “My Parents; Bedroom,” illustrates the day to day struggle of living in Africa during the genocide. Symbolism is
