As with any good school my university had always helped me find new dimension in myself and played a vital role in nurturing my interest in fields of electronics. Through a lecture on “Embedded systems” by one of my professor Dr. Sankaran, I learnt that embedded systems are core electronic systems and believed it could master mind future electronic devices. I pursued that field with an intention to equip myself with the basics required for that field; I took up both theoretical and practical courses on Microcontrollers and Microprocessors in my third year which gave me a deep insight of the chip technologies. With the understanding from that course I undertook three course projects; one of those was an “ELECTRONICALLY GUIDED WALKING STICK”. To achieve this I used long wavelength sensors to find out the obstacle and determine the distance of the obstacle from the person. The second project involved creating an “AUTOMATIC WINDOW CLOSING SYSTEM”. In this, whenever there are loud noises a microphone
Over the years, I have grown particularly fascinated with the abstract side of electronics, including the creation of programming languages and applications, especially for mobile devices, and the creation of artificial intelligence. I see the potential for computer programs and artificial intelligence to help humanity solve many of its most complex problems in entertainment, communication, and everyday life, and I believe a degree in Computer Science would help me become a part of this
At an early age, I gravitated towards electronics as a means of distraction. However, my curiosity grew immensely when I understood that technology had the potential to solve many real-world problems. My interest in engineering was inspired by my father who devoted his life as a mechanic for twenty years. As an expert in his field, he taught me about the
I’ve always wanted to be an engineer. As I grew, so did my interest in electronics. I have taken apart and reassembled my computer so many times that it no longer worries my mother! My study boasts boxes of bought and salvaged components, soldering irons and stacks of electronics books. I taught myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, C++, C# and Java to help with ever more complex projects. To keep up with the latest developments in technology I read www.siliconrepublic.com and www.arstechnica.co.uk daily. I also subscribe to “Make: Magazine” and “Web Designer Magazine”.
Writing this paper, or should I say attempting to write this paper and again just to clarify attempting in my situation really just means staring mindlessly at the blue and white blank Word document has really got the gears turning in my head. What is something I am truly passionate about? What really has given me the feeling of purpose? So after countless hours of thinking, and eventually driving around letting the cool midnight breeze hit my face for motivation there it was. It hit me like a brick, literality there I found myself driving right past my high school and I knew exactly what to write about. Electronics, and before you starting getting any ideas I am not in love with my phone. I am talking about Electronics Engineering, for three out of the four years of my high school career I devoted my life to Electronics. Firstly, this made me into a critical thinker. Secondly this class allowed me to push my limits. Finally, most importantly this class showed me everyone has limits which I believe is an extremely important concept that most people do not understand.
As rightly said by Nikola Tesla, “We crave for new sensations but soon become indifferent to them. The wonders of yesterday are today common occurrences”. The sweeping changes in the Technological world with the advent of Electronics have made the role of electrical and electronics engineering a really indispensable one. My fascination for engineering was from an early stage though not a conscious one. It has been my deepest desire to be a part of this proliferating community. While my Bachelor’s degree has given me a well-rounded strong fundamental platform and exposure in the Electrical and Electronics field, I am keen to pursue Graduate education to advance my knowledge as well as contribute to specific areas in Electronics and advancements in technology. I thereby seek to pursue graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at University of Texas at Dallas.
My tremendous urge to follow my heart and curiosity about the actual functioning of a computer and other electronic gadgets led to pursue an undergraduate course in Computer Engineering at the very well known A D Patel Institute of Technology affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. I believe that I will be among the strong candidates for this opportunity backed by my academic and
Electronics with its wide gamut of sub-disciplines and extensive scope has enthralled me take up engineering. The theory courses like Microelectronics, VLSI, Biomedical Instrumentation along with practical and seminar sessions during my undergraduate course in Instrumentation Technology at RV College of Engineering, ranked among the Top 20 Engineering Colleges in India, provided a highly stimulating academic environment along with world class faculty and facilities which helped me build a solid foundation in
I write this as an undergraduate student seeking admission to the Electrical Engineering graduate program of Stanford with a research focus on Hardware/Software Systems. The exponential advancement in technology over the last decade with the rise of Internet of Things and Big data analytics has necessitated novel computational techniques. New design paradigms in hardware architectures have emerged to expand the capabilities of physical devices. I am fascinated by the potential impact of efficient system design and analysis on information technology. At graduate school, I would like to work at the intersection of embedded systems and data science, contributing to tackling various design challenges that include designing energy efficient and secure systems and analyzing collected data to make new hypotheses. I consider my choice of
The electrical and electronics engineering and its vast applications in my undergraduate studies impressed me. My special interest in EHVAC/DC Transmission made me to think in a different way and made me visualize drawbacks of power industry in India. My paper on “Problems of power sector in India” was published in the prestigious electrical journals. In the international electrical journals I was the only undergraduate student who submitted a
Since my school days, I was always curious about how automated gadgets and devices work. Various TV programs gave me some insight into the world of electronics. Vocational electronics course in my higher secondary education acquainted me to the basics of electronics. After starting my undergraduate course in electronics and tele-communication engineering, basic courses like ‘Basic Electronics Engineering’, ‘Solid State Devices and Circuits’ and ‘Digital Logic Design’ gave me a deeper understanding of the building blocks of electronics like diodes, transistors and ICs. Not only did these courses managed to partially sate this curiosity that I had since my childhood, but also inspired me to explore the world of electronics further.
From the beginning of world history, engineers have always served as leaders on the frontier of human innovation, driving solutions that impact health, security, and efficiency. Today, teams of engineers are transforming communities around the world. They are bringing water collectors to dry villages, and cleaner products, such as converters and biofuels, to cities. Consequently, I want to be an Electrical Engineer to transform my community and live for a job that I love. In this essay, I will outline the job description, preparation, advantages and disadvantages of a career in Electrical engineering, and how I will transform my community.
The first fully functional computer ENIAC or Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer, spanned over thousand square feet, used eighteen thousand vacuum tubes, and weighed over thirty tons. A modern CPU however, is a thousand times faster than ENIAC. My curiosity for electronics was initially sparked by computers as it amazed me with its ability to perform billions of calculations in mere seconds. I was further inspired by the realization that electronics pervaded almost all aspects of modern civilization. Today electrical engineering forms the underpinning of modern technology and what fascinates me the most is its applicability in real life systems. The breadth of the subject and its rapid advancement makes it a very exciting and relevant field.
The potential to create exceptional, innovative products through the use of electrical engineering and embedded systems have always fascinated me. From the miniaturized circuit boards in smartphones and tablet PCs to the large-scale embedded electronics used in aerospace systems (Bozzano, Cimatti, Katoen, et. al., 2011) electrical engineering has long fascinated me. One of the most significant factors that led to my passion for this subject is the revolution that is occurring in the areas of mobile processors, avionics and aerospace systems, where embedded systems are critical to the navigational integrity of the vehicle. This revolution in embedded systems is also leading to an entirely new era of performance in avionics and deep space exploration, which promises to deliver insights never learned before from previous technologies (Kadayif, Kandemir, 2005). Due to all of these factors I am extremely interested in electrical engineering and pursing it a graduate degree in this academic discipline .
The first decade of 21st century will be remembered for the incredible advancement in the electronics. A decade ago there were televisions which occupied a large table whereas the present day flat screen LCD or LED televisions can be hung to a wall. The desktops are replaced by laptops and which in turn are replaced most recently by the tablets. This reduction in the size of electronic gadgets with increase in working efficiency over the years amazed me. Hence naturally, I grew up with a passion towards this field and this passion led me to choose Electronics and Communication Engineering as my undergrad course. The field of electrical & electronics engineering has always fascinated me. I picked up the rudiments of electronics field and electrical engineering. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers, moreover about its large size. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors that are responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small. I was taken aback after seeing a small chip for the first time in my school days, furthermore when it came to my knowledge that this single chip contains more than 1000 transistors, it really became impossible for me to believe, “integrated circuits” was the answer I received, but wasn’t able to penetrate the fundamentals of it. From then, everyday I come across with small circuits
From my child hood my surrounding makes me interested on different kind of tools, uses of electricity and their basic theorem, different mechanical combination. From my high school, I have an enthusiasm for science and mathematics. I used to read different science magazine, from which I always tried to acquire as much knowledge as possible. After finishing my college education with good result I set my aim to be an engineer and admitted in to Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh
