I put on the lead apron and walked into the operating room. I was shadowing an interventional radiologist, and although I was just watching the procedure, I was nervous. What if I faint? What if I get queasy during the surgery and have to walk out? These questions filled my mind with diffidence. But as I stood there, just a few feet from a doctor carefully maneuvering a catheter around the vasculature of the patient’s brain, I had never been more intrigued and excited. My feelings of self-doubt washed away as a flood of fascination and curiosity came over me. To pursue as an undergraduate student at Indiana University, I aspire to attend the College of Arts & Science to earn my Bachelor's of Science degree in biology and to ultimately become a cardiologist. Furthermore while being an undergraduate student at IU, I want to be part of the Atkins community and the Hutton Honors College. I mostly want to be part of the Atkins community because I will be able to find other black college students who may share the same similar interests and background that I have. I plan to invest so much time there and to help them flourish, as well of giving back to the black community. Also, I am a very hard working student that excel through their rigorous courses in high school; I want to be surrounded by students who share those same traits while being at Indiana University. Likewise, the Hutton Honors College will also keep my hard working skills sharp and secure. I want to be part of such an intelligent school to endeavor the challenges to become a greater, stronger, and vigorous student.

Two of my long-range goals are to spread the joy of playing music and to make a difference in this world through research and development of environment-friendly technology. Continuance of my education in music is essential for me to become more proficient as a musician, and through this journey I will have more opportunities to share the joy I experience through music. Likewise, academic training in a STEM field, specifically engineering, will allow me to move in the direction of developing technology that will sustain the environment for future generations as well as harness renewable energy thus minimizing our negative footprint on Earth.

Since I was fifteen I have always been drawn to answering important questions, engaging in meaningful discussions, and touching lives in intentional and personal ways. My favourite thing to do is disciple; engage in authentic conversations about life, relationships, and Jesus through a mixture of counseling, mentoring, and teaching. I have been intrigued by philosophy and theology since high school. Since then I did my undergraduate degree at Summit Pacific College, close to where I live so that I could help my family build our new house, while preparing to impact my world for Christ. At Summit, I earned a BA in Religion, with a major in Biblical Theology. In this major I took exegetical coursework, first year Hebrew and Greek, and was prepared for Graduate studies with a thesis course.

I always have enjoyed learning Mathematics and have been fascinated by Business. This interest has led me to pursue my future study and career in the field of Business Analytics. At this stage, I am filled with genuine pleasure and profound optimism to submit this personal statement in support of my application for continuing my education at George Washington University.

I am writing to express my interest in serving as a course developer for the College of Health and Human Services at Penn State. I have been developing and teaching courses online since 2005 and have held academic appointments at the University of Pittsburgh, Wayne State University and Virginia Tech. University. I am certified in instructional design through Indiana University and my areas of specialization are social psychology, human development, health and wellness and multi-cultural education.

As I begin to prepare myself for entering college life, there are a few concepts I plan to keep a focus on in my life so that I may be able to be a positive influence and bright feature on campus.

Since I’ve begun my studies, Sacramento State University has provided me with a whirlwind of exciting changes and opportunities in the local community to grow as an adult. I recognize that college isn’t a necessity that aids people in achieving the new American Dream; it helps you individually in stimulating one’s self professionally and personally. Critical thinking and reflection has helped me improve from being a wallflower of an undergraduate to a confident community member and scholar. Not only does this college help me develop skills in my desired field, it helps me learn how to think properly and develop genius in the real world.

The first theatrical production I was ever involved in as a tech crew member, happened by pure accident. At the end of the school day, a group of friends whisked me away to their drama club meeting, and at the end of the week I was the only member of that group that remained. That accident was the genesis of a brand new passion. From starting off as an average stage hand to becoming a full-fledged member of the high-school tech program, I was hooked for life.

Some prior experience that I would bring to assistant position for the woods college are professionalism, diversity and a strong base of experience in microsoft office and computer science.

New York University is absolutely attractive to me for its vibrant location—the center of New York City. Besides studying in classrooms, students in NYU can go outside to explore New York through programs like Cohen Arts & Culture Experience. Discovering internship opportunity on Wall Street or enjoying an opera in Broadway, I believe the life in NYU is colorful and exhilarating. Also, as a business student, Stern is beneficial for me to plan career development through Wasserman Center for Career Development, from accessing the NYU CareerNet to hosting career fairs. Many of my studies have focused on subject matter relevant to the teachings of the faculty at Memorial University such as the topics of climate change, the geology of coastal landscapes, oceanography, cartography, global positioning systems, remote sensing, and geographic information systems. I hold an affinity of interests toward technology used for geospatial data acquisition such as ERDAS Image and ArcGIS. Map making is a big interest of mine. Recently, I have spent many long hours designing maps with various software including Adobe Illustrator, ERDAS Imagine, and ArcGIS that were largely enjoyed. When I graduate from San Francisco State University in Spring, I will have fulfilled degree elective requirements for both resource management and geographic analysis techniques.

My true passion for engineering began when I came across the quote: "Technology are devices that make our lives better". Despite my first love of mathematics, my recent interest for engineering has come from two major influences. The first being my mathematics and physics teachers, both engineers by nature, who have helped me enhance the fundamental skills essential for engineering and embrace the importance of the field. The second being the learning about uses of technology in Computer Science, it taught me the magnitude of which technology contributes to our everyday lives has led me to intensify my desire to improve the lives of others.

During my undergraduate studies, I was exposed to a spectrum of subjects in Electronics and Programming, such as Microprocessors, Computer Networks, Computer Organization, C, Data Structures, JAVA and Digital Signal Processing etc.

As I grew up, I observed that Computers find their application in a wide range of fields from high end devices in large scale industries to the smallest appliances used in homes; practically everything can be controlled by computers. So naturally when it came to picking the subject of my choice at undergraduate level, I picked Computer Science as my field of study.
