English 102 Research Paper

A freshman college level English Composition course aims to improve students' abilities with writing, critical thinking, mechanics and usage, punctuation, grammar, and vocabulary. By studying English 101 at Luzerne County Community College, I will work diligently to improve in all of these aspects. My main focus is to develop skills specifically to create clear and concise thesis statements, strong and persuasive essays with cajolement, and to develop different perspectives on narratives and other essays. These writing skills may also improve my critical thinking and reading skills.

Upon entering English 111 on-line class, I had not taken an English class on-line before. In the past I have taken several other basic classes. English has always been a struggle for me, mainly writing and grammar. Neither, writing or grammar has come natural to me. The biggest challenge for me is putting my thoughts into words.

The first paper is due by Monday, April 9, 11:59 p.m. You MAY use sources outside of the Liberty Search Engine (and are encouraged to do so). Also you may use scholarly books and not just journal articles. You should avoid using generic websites that do not appear scholarly in nature. A good rule of thumb is that if a website does not have an author, it is not a good source. Good online material has also usually been published in print at some point. Google Scholar and JSTOR are great places to search, as well as the online encyclopedias I've shown you. Always feel free to send me an email if you have questions about sources or formatting.

This research paper will evaluate the biological aspects of addictive substance or behavior and how it affects the brain and organs. The National English Honor Society would let me interact with a diverse group of students. Joining the Society would give me a chance to take trips to colleges and other places to learn new things. If accepted to the Society I would dedicate my time to it and not be distracted by anything that will take away from my education. Writing has always inspired me which is a big part of English it is a good way to express yourself it is the way I express myself. Joining the English Honor Society would all around help me stay in track with my education.

I have tried my utmost best in all my courses; both high school and college courses. Unit 10 was a closure for the previous four units in the process of inventing Canada. This unit based on the earliest resources on Canadian history and on the first nations whom lived in this country. This resources were about pre-Cartier and his explorations. Some nations, for example the people who lived in St. Lawrence valley – whom did not have a specific name to be called at- and historians still lacking enough evidence on their existence or what happened with them. These people who are identified as St. Lawrence Iroquoians were lived in the contact area which means the conquerors reached them first. Throughout this semester we have had to write many types of essays. Although this is a college English class there is still room for improvement. I made much improvement during the semester of the class. I was able to identify my weaknesses. I learned how to make improvements to the areas I was having problems in. Although each essay we did was different I was able to begin with one essay and throughout the semester turn it into two other essays. I was able to change my style of writing to fit the type of audience I was working with. I will continue to work on my writing and keep improving it.

“Tatum isd, where every student is special.” Our school, Tatum high, just received a large cash gift for having the highest test scores around. I believe we should use the money to update the most important, crucial, productive, and beneficial things to all students. They really need to modernize the restrooms and the transportation, those, to me and many others, are two of the biggest problems at our school.

Augustana College would be a perfect choice for me as I could use the education I receive from Augustana to help me get into the field of my dreams, Computer Sciences or Graphic Art. With the outstanding Computer Science program you have to offer, I know that it would be beneficial to study at Augustana College so that I may continue on to greater things in my career field. Now, why should you guys accept me into your campus? Well, I can promise you that I will bring many strengths to the game and help by preforming my best in my studies.

Dartmouth College dates back to the early days of America, founded in 1769 by “the Rev. Eleazar Wheelock”. It was actually founded for the purpose of giving education to native Americans, and there was one native American who helped raise the money needed for the college, in this way being interesting because the Indians often had hostile feelings towards the whites. It was an interesting idea to create a college mainly meant to educate the Indians, who were from the white’s view uneducated and barbaric, and that the college would go on to become as prominent as it has.

English 1009 are considered an elective, a prerequisite course to English 1010. This course has a wealth of information in it. Even though it does not cover core credits, what I have learned from this course has set the stage for me to succeed in my future courses.

Reporter stated they meet mom (Nia) was she was in Wal-Mart trying to steal when she was pregnant a few months ago. Reporter stated she paid for mom’s items. “Just follow the rubric and you will do very well during your high school English experience each,” teacher stated. Teachers handed out a rubric at the beginning of each assignment, which detail every single thing that needed to be included in your paper. As long and you followed all of the instruction stated in the rubric, your paper would qualify you to receive an A. At the time, I thought this method was rather effective. I thought I was a stronger writer as result of being able to follow the instruction from the rubric and always receiving an A on each assignment.
