They key objective of the Coop 12 program is to give you a taste of a career choice that you have an interest in. Since I knew that I want to become a Registered Nurse I was placed at the South Cumberland Community Care Center and at the Parrsboro Regional Elementary School in the grade Primary/ One class. In the time of 100 hours I needed, I spent most of those hours at the hospital. There had been a variety of different jobs that I was able to do at the hospital, more than I was able to do at the elementary school. In the next couple paragraphs I will explain the experience I had gained during my placements and how they had given me the extra support for my decision on my future career. My experience also had many good sides and bad sides …show more content…
At the beginning of the Coop program I had many expectations on each of the placements that I had chosen. The learning experiences at the hospital had met my expectations and went above and beyond, but the experiences at the elementary school had been under my expectations. At the hospital I was able to really get my hands on the real idea of what it would be like to be an RN. At the elementary school I thought I would be able to be more hands on but it was the opposite, I didn’t really learn much about becoming a teacher but learned more about being around children and understanding how they think and learn. The best parts of each placement was that I found out what my future may hold for me. The amount of information that I had gained about becoming a registered nurse and the real life experiences that I first handedly witnessed was very helpful on getting a concrete decision on what I would like to become. The best part about the placement at the elementary school was the connections I had made with each of the children and to see how excited they had gotten when they would see me enter the room. The worst parts about the hospital placement were when we would go down to the long term care side of the hospital and see how sad the residents were when they couldn't remember something or if they weren't confident with themselves, when the patients who were sick …show more content…
The placements helped me discover which branch of nursing that really interests me. Through going to the hospital and the elementary school it has made me realize that I would like to go into the emergency department or pediatric nursing. I have many educational and career goals that I would like to accomplish. I have applied to two different universities for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, if accepted into either ST Francis Xavier University or the University of Prince Edward Island I will try and work my hardest to accomplish my education to become a Registered Nurse. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four year program that includes many labs and technical practices that get you ready for the real world of nursing. My top goal for my future career is to complete the four years of university to become a Registered nurse. My placements in the Coop program has been a very enjoyable time. It has allowed me to discover my true interest for the job as a registered nurse and the hospital community, it also has confirmed my passion for the care of others especially children. The Coop program is a class that you need to have control over your time and be able to motivate yourself to complete that 100 hours
I want to be a pediatric nurse. I absolutely adore children. I have been a preschool teacher for 4 years while I am continuing my education at Lonestar college to finish my prerequisite and get into nursing school. I desire to not only learn but achieve excellence. I go above and beyond what is required of me. I graduated from Lonestar College Cyfair with honors. I graduated cum laude and proud member of the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I also graduated from Lonestar honors college. This is college allowed me to go beyond what I am capable of and set the standard for my academic excellence. The honors college help to broaden my horizon and can perform research that has never been done before. This research was unique to me I did
Nursing is more than traveling room to room, patient to patient, to provide medical care. Nursing is about treating the patient with the utmost respect and compassion. It’s more than providing medical care, but supporting the patient and family. Being a nurse only requires a bachelor degree and a “RN” badge, however, a great nurse possesses that knowledge, along with determination, a positive attitude, compassion, and patience. I believe that I display these characteristics and have a true passion for helping others. Throughout high school, I always had an interest in the medical field and biology. In my junior year, I decided to enroll in the CNA course to pursue my passion for nursing early on. Through this class, I experienced moments of self discovery
Before this program I was working as a nurse in a surgical care unit and I did not fully understand why I did the things that I did or even why I became a nurse. This program changed my practice, for example, in the first class of the program, Transition to Professional Nursing I had to think for the first time in my personal philosophy of nursing and I discovered that to me, “nursing is a sacred work dedicated to the service of others, and requires a nurse’s deliberated commitment to inner spiritual growth to achieve

While attending Liberty Univeristy, I started out as a Business Major, but after a few accounting classes I decided to be an Accountant. Not only did I find a career path at Liberty, but I also found my life's mate. We have been married for 34 year and our proudest accomplishment in life are our three children. Nathan, recently married and lives in Wisconsin. Both are clinical pharmacists in the hospital setting. Nathan published his first article for the Pharmacy Journal which started sibling riviary. Lauren, is the Production Manager for the White House Historical Association and could't wait to tell her brother that she published two articles. We also visited the White House on several occasions. Our youngest,
Drugs have the ability to alter the transmission of a neuron that causes a person to change their state of being. These drugs may have some medical uses that may treat diseases or elevate moods, however there are some drugs that are used recreationally that also elevate moods but do not offer any medical usage. For other living beings, they are used for self-defense against other predators and these chemicals that inject can also alter the state of mind and even death.
HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) Level II codes are updated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. HCPCS Level II codes are revised annually with implementation in Jaunary of each year. This means that coders have to stay up to date on all changes. Some of the ways coders can stay up to date include: getting updates from the CMS website; consulting with the ASCA website; network with other coders; and consulting local coverage determinations. There are also monthly newsletters published by the AMA called HCPCS Assistant that are considered an official coding resource by the CMS. The medical management software must be kept up to date to ensure the proper codes are being used. A coder should never use an older

In the beginning, JROTC was established in 1916 when Congress passed the National Defense Act. The main purpose of JROTC was to motivate young men and women to be better citizens. This all started in Norwich Vermont. Not much has changed since then. Their mission before is still the same as their mission now.
I declare that this assignment is my individual work. I have not worked collaboratively nor have I copied from any other student’s work or from any other source except where due acknowledgment is made explicitly in the text, nor has any part been written for me by another person.
When I first caught wind of the Clinical Care program at C-TEC I knew right away that this would be a great opportunity for me to get a head start in my career. Once I received my acceptance letter
Becoming a nurse has always been an aspiration of mine, I’ve always wanted a job that uses my caring nature and becoming a nurse seems like the perfect fit. Any job can be rewarding but working in the medical field where you can help save lives, make differences and be supportive at a person’s time of need is at the top of my list when I think of a rewarding career. I am choosing this course because I love learning new things and with a nursing career no day will be the same as the day before, so you will constantly be learning new skills, plus there are many different areas of nursing that you can go in to, so this will enable me to put my skills that I already have in to use but also learn completely new things.
It is a program that is based on the health career field, especially nursing. I have this course for three classes a day and it takes up most of my school day. These classes have given me invaluable information and training that will be very useful in my collage courses. My volunteer work at the Veterans Hospital will also help me with becoming a RN because it is sort of like on-the-job training. I get to experience working with patients, in a real hospital setting. My step mom has lots of her old nursing books from her LPN training. I frequently look into them to help me with my Diversified Health Occupations homework, and sometime just to see how something works, or is done.
This was something I had trouble with in the first few days of the placement and challenged me more than I thought. Once I was able to get past that I found areas of the placement that would help me in the long run if I was able to seize the opportunity that was presented. In some areas community nursing is very similar to nursing in the hospital and in others it couldn’t be more different. Once I found these areas and got over the initial shock of the difference in settings I was able to transfer my knowledge from the hospital to the community where applicable and I was able to pick up the information and skills that I lacked in the
