If an alumnus donated money to Concordia College, they should be spent in a way that benefits all students. Most students and faculty would agree that building a parking lot would be a great opportunity. Building a new parking lot is a good investment because more students would attend school, the prices would decline, and current students would be satisfied. If a parking lot was built more people would be able to attend. The parking lots at Concordia have very limited space. A lot of students cannot find spaces to park during the day. Therefore, they are unsatisfied all day long. Future students who own their car will doubt about choosing Concordia. The more parking spots allow more students to attend the school. As a result, building a parking
There needs to be additional parking on campus made for visitors and also for students. There also needs to be additional parking meters added for students living off campus, who often have trouble finding a spot. The college is overpopulated, resulting in loads of backed up parking lots. Faculty already has reserved parking; however the limited amount of parking on campus is forcing students and visitors to park in reserved faculty lots. Parking is
The colleges could use that money to help improve their campuses. Colleges would be able to renovate and upgrade their gyms, classrooms, or dorms. By doing this, more people and students would be attracted to that school and want to go there. If they paid the athletes, then they would not have the opportunity to upgrade their standards. Also, the colleges could use that money towards the scholarships. Many students are unable to afford all of the money and tuition that comes with schooling, so when they offer scholarships, they bring in more students. More students equal higher popularity, and more popularity equals more success for the school. Another reason why college should get the money over athletes is that it could go towards the athletic directors and the staff of the athletic programs. That pay will ensure that the directors are doing their best and making the right decisions to help their teams progress positively. By bringing in the most talented players, the team has a better chance of winning games. Overall, the money would help the colleges gain an advantage over others and give them more opportunities than if they paid the
“John Calipari makes over 5.5 million dollars a season” (Bowen). With the salary that he makes each year you could play the tuition for over two hundred students. Also with that money you could improve campus life and also make other programs better, but also use some of that money to maybe pay athletes.
Since the vast majority of students that attend college drives a car, Miami Dade College had to find a place where students could park their car without taking the risk of being towed or ticketed. So the college administration allied at a first instance with Miami-Dade County to let the students park at the 117th avenue which is right behind the college buildings. The real problem came when the Miami-Dade County didn’t let them park there anymore. Consequently, MDC had to find another place to let them park, so they moved the parking site to the International Mall, which is about 3 miles from the campus buildings. Finally they got an agreement with IKEA to use the upper parking of the
Waking up on time, finding your classroom, as well as showing, are just some of the stressful parts of going to Cleveland State as a commuter, let alone finding a place to park. The necessity of finding a parking spot on campus close to the correct buildings is a must if you plan on commuting. On top of paying for tuition, students are asked to pay another fee to park on campus. One would think that if the parking pass was bought, a spot would be automatically a given fact, but for some they are hard to find. The question is should every student that buys a parking pass be granted a parking spot in the designated area of their choice? I think that if you spend the money to park you should have a spot no matter what time you come on campus.
Though students are not the only ones suffering from the parking issue. According to the FIUSM Editorial, “FIU’s status as a commuter school should mean the University has enough parking spaces available to fulfill the need of its community. But, it doesn’t. The University’s parking problem is not just a student problem, it’s affects the community as a whole (FIUSM Editorial).” To get this point across I plan to use a solution argument to be able to properly state the solutions to the parking problem Florida International University has provided, and show the flaws that the services have within them and ways that we could better than to actually make an impact on the commuting students parking experience. I decided on this purpose because many people already know Florida International University has a parking issue, as well as many universities around the country, but to be able to offer them alternatives to be able to help the problem seems to be the best way to go rather than just informing them of what they already know
As of 2013 there are about 2,500 parking spots currently available at the UCMerced parking lot; with the continued growth of students in the school, we need to be able to make sure supply meets demand with the parking spaces. UCMerced's student population is rapidly growing from 13.5 % from Fall of 2015 to 2016 (UCMerced). Due to the high demand the school needs to be able meet the necessary requirements for all these students; one of the biggest problems the school faces is that they aren’t able to meet the student’s transportation needs (The Merced Sun-Star). The lack of spaces causes students and staff to waste time looking for parking causing them to waste time. I plan on making a design on a mobile app to be able to solve this problem.
Mr. Gayle and I choose to fix the parking issues by removing all special parking for Professors, build more parking by purchasing the empty lot across the street from the campus. This project will be feasible with the amount awarded because it is enough to pay for the empty lot, pay workman, and materials for example, paint, tar, and cement. This project does not take a lot of money or time and can be completed within a semester or the summer break. My friend Dianne attends Binghamton College at upstate New York and was amazed when I discuss the special parking for Professor. Compared to, her school were they do not have that problem and both students and Professors have sufficient parking and the only marked parking is for people with a disability. Therefore, addressing this problem is beneficial to students and can prevent late arrivals for
Adam complains about parking at least three time a day. He is late to economics class every Tuesday and Thursday, and Professor Willis simply cannot take it anymore. Professor Willis told Adam that he needs to wake up earlier in order to get a spot on campus, but sleep is vital to all college students. Sleep should not be compensated for the time to find parking. Adelphi should instead listen to the proposal in this essay, which deals with the plan of action to create more parking spots on campus. Spots are limited, and Adam is not alone. There is a large number of people who have a problem finding a parking spot. Parking is the number one problem on campus for both residents and commuters and a solution is needed. Adelphi has the money and power to create more parking spots on campus by extending both of the underground parking lots. The benefits of extending the underground parking lots will allow for Adelphi to cut down on their shuttle service, permit all students to park on campus, and for less accidents to occur.
Nobody enjoys receiving a parking ticket; it can ruin a person's day, especially if it is an expensive ticket. However, the public tends to ignore the pivotal role parking enforcement plays in a city. Parking enforcement ensures a steady flow of traffic and creates a fair and safe city infrastructure. Otherwise, without anyone to implement laws, chaos would ensue. For example, people might double-park, which may block other people in and prohibit them from leaving. Individuals would park in the middle of streets, block sidewalks, and perhaps take up handicap spots without having a disability. People with an actual disability could be forced to park a long distance away from an entrance, placing them in potential danger. Enforced parking laws also prevent people from parking at a metered spot for extended amounts of time, even days. Businesses especially depend on parking rules; otherwise, anyone could take up valuable spots in front of the store, inconveniencing actual costumers and forcing them to park far away. Streets would collect garbage and filth because of parked cars blocking street cleaners from completing their hygienic tasks.
Seaman High School has many policies that keep its students in check and ready for the everyday life outside of it. The rule that I find non-beneficial to its students is, the parking fee it charges us who drive to school. Money that the school obtains from this fee isn’t used beneficially for its students in the correct way; for example, every winter when we have a heavy output of snow or ice on the ground, nothing is done to the parking lots, to ensure student safety. A parking fee should be used for the up keep and safety level of the parking lot. So, why should we have to pay a fee to drive to school when it isn’t used to benefit us? For this reason, our school should do away with a parking fee, if we are to be charged to park here, then
One of the primary challenges any community college face is that there are many more students than parking spaces. Parking is very important if you attend or work here at Delgado Community College. It is an efficient means of storing vehicles while they aren’t in use, and it causes little disruption to surrounding areas, like houses, churches, and other buildings. Parking around campus is a pain here at Delgado. I, a current student at Delgado, am sick and tired of the parking situation at Delgado. About two weeks ago my car was towed from school. I walked outside expecting to see my car exactly where I park it everytime I come to school and it was gone! This was
building codes representative agreed were a possibility where as follows: an expansion of the parking lot in order to account for more parking spaces.
When students are trying to get to class on time or even slightly early and the parking lot is full, this becomes increasingly more difficult to find a spot. To discover and verify the problems with Crounse’s parking lot, we gathered data from not only the parking lot itself, but the student and faculty body as well. From here we analyzed the data collected and developed viable solutions to the issues at Crounse Hall’s parking area.
There are currently only a handful of reserved spaces on campus, and the ground has yet to be broken for the construction of the parking deck. In fact, Winthrop University does not even have all the funds needed to build this parking deck. When I approached Jack Allen, of Campus Police, with my idea of reserved parking spaces, he told me that he thought it was a good idea. Walter Hardin, when given the same idea, seemed to think that the reserved parking system would not realistically work out but was open to the proposal.
