This year has seen some of the highest-grossing films of all-time hit theaters (Furious 7, Age of Ultron, Jurassic World), but with millions of fans driving blockbusters to record high grosses, it has never been a worse time to go see a movie. Garbage overflows the aisles, people share pictures of the opening credits, and AT&T actively encourages their customers to watch football DURING the movie (https://twitter.com/drafthouse/status/643612704750600192). Before cineplexes start to resemble the wastelands of Mad Max: Fury Road, here is a refresher course for how to share your theater with fellow

Mad Max Fury Road depicts a post-apocalyptic environment in which the basis of survival depends solely on the citizens following a social contract in which survival is achieved at the cost of any sort of freedom. Not only is this evident in the totalitarian style society, but also in regards to the environment which makes survival impossible without resources and more specifically, a war machine. The director attempts to exploit the idea of environmentalism within the sub texts of the movie by placing the setting in a dystopian environment in which a battle of man vs nature becomes the main obstacle of the main characters rather than the more obvious theme of man vs man. Specifically, the scene of the movie in which the war machines head straight
Although cinema is now a priority, some feel as if cinema is no longer the cinema when it was first established. Movies no longer have that special feeling like viewers once had. Today, films are not only shared within a theater, if one pleases they could always have the same experience elsewhere. Moreover, with technology expanding, it takes away the importance cinema once had. “The

The golden days of Ellen Louise Ripley are long past. References of never being hungry again- aimed at the young-adult generation-fall on deaf ears. The man-eating, hard-working female protagonist had fallen completely off the cinematographic map until 2015. Originally a bestselling movie franchise series directed by George Miller, Mad Max: Fury Road was released on May 15, 2015. In comparison to its pop-culture counterpart the Divergent series, Mad Max: Fury Road endorsed a story line that was predominately plot-centered. The true enigma in Mad Max: Furry Road was not its story line, it was its female protagonist: the bitter but never brutal, lovely yet lethal, Imperator Furiosa.
Reflecting on my childhood, my sister would say a shark was under my bed and I was so scared of sharks. Doing this, she was able to keep it as a threat and use it to get what she wanted. If she wanted a drink, she would make me go get it. If I didn 't, she would say she would tell the shark what I did. This is also like in Mad Max and the Pedestrian. The Immortan Joe, Aunty Entity, the Cop Car, and Emptiness are use paranoia to keep themselves in control.
The article "Reinvent the Movie Theatre" written by Hunter Walk proposes to fans of movies being traditionally watched that the limited movements spectators can act out inside a movie theatre is the reason the capacity of audiences who come to watch the films have not increased. Walk investigates deep into a spectator's mindset in regards to how they may want to behave in a movie theatre if that particular individual is similar to him who wants their "media experience plugged in" (Walk) during this kind of entertainment. He also creates a discussion around the visual appeal of putting more lighting and electricity outlet inside the movie theatre, as well as mentioning about certain behaviours discouraged in such a public area that should instead be acceptable. Overall, Walk's desire to reformat the traditional expectations when watching a movie by involving the use of electronic devices, redecorating the place of theatre itself and allowing behaviours contradictory to people's beliefs during an airing movie will ultimately improve the system of theatre to gain more attendees for the shows.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved taking part in the cinematic experience. Every aspect of it, including purchasing my ticket, eating buttery popcorn, and watching every trailer before the film completely and totally encapsulates me to this very day. So, it should come as no surprise that at the ripe age of 21, I am currently working at AMC Southdale, a high-end movie theater in Edina, MN. There are certain perks that come with being an employee at AMC that benefit cinephiles such as myself exceptionally well, including free tickets to the movies. Sufficed to say, when March 11 came around and 10 Cloverfield Lane was released in theaters, I was more than ready to take advantage of my free pass to the movies and go see
Dead, dystopian Earth within Mad Max symbolizes a possible reality for our planet. Mad Max:Fury Road centers around Max Rockatansky, a War Boy named Nux’s blood bag. Reluctantly, Max with direction from Furiosa, liberates the Warlord’s “breeders,” escaping Immortan Joe’s reign to find “the green place.” Furiosa, the “breeders,” Nux, and Max all represent the complex concept of “the good guys.” Though, Max is a bit more of a neutral character, Immortan Joe serves as the main villain who wishes to take the maiden’s back as slaves and kill Furiosa. Society thirsts for the water that Immortan Joe claims for himself. Everything outside of his citadel, is uninhabitable.
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” This quote by Dalai Lama conveys the message that human emotions like compassion are essential for the survival of humans and without them we are no more than the machines we create. Many times, people in authority abuse their power by dehumanizing individuals to fulfill their own agenda. When an single individual with ill intent is given power, countless people bear the consequences. Therefore, it is required that the people take responsibility to deal with that ill intent. Similarly, in the film Mad Max: Fury Road requires for the characters to exercise their will to break free from the dehumanizing process and survive. I will argue that Mad Max: Fury
This is the opening line of the 2015 action blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road. Mad max takes place about 50 years into the future. The world has turned into a nuclear wasteland inhabited by people who look like this 2. And this is the man in charge. 3 Immortan Joe is the leader of this wasteland. He is a cruel and harsh leader. He has 5 wives 4 who he rapes periodically in hopes of receiving healthy children. This is max 5 Max was a cop before the world went under. Even Though his name is right there in the title, he is sort of a secondary character. 6 Furiosa feels more like a main character than Max does. Max and Furiosa work 7 together to free the 5 wives and bring them to the mysterious “Green
Genre subverting “Mad Max: Fury Road”, directed by George Miller explores themes of objectification, the cult of the V8’s and Norse Mythology through the material body of the film. This 2015 film is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where Miller relies on practical effects rather than CGI, in order to keep the action onscreen authentic, according to Casey creating an intuitive masterpiece. The first Planescape: Torment was discharged in 1999 to across the board basic approval. It won RPG of the Year from numerous outlets for its whimsical story, characters, and stunning soundtrack. From that point forward, a great many Planescape: Torment fans have appreciated investigating the bizarre and hazardous city of Sigil and encompassing planes through the Nameless One's eyes.
Throughout the film, Wasteland, I saw four major themes. They were social, environmental, economic, and creativity.
I wonder if this is really Hollywood's way of two-tiered marketing. Supply movie theatres with blockbuster releases and make huge profits at concession stands as well as the box office then market bootlegs (Yes, I am asking aloud if they might be in on it) to the people who cannot afford to enjoy the deluxe movie experience.
