Creative Writing Process Essay

Before I began the fiction unit for this creative writing class, I did not think I would have an easy time constructing flash fiction or short story pieces. Previously, I never had the opportunity to write creative pieces for any of my English classes; therefore, the prospect of writing a full piece with a beginning, middle, and end frightened me a little. However, I believe the work I presented in this unit truly reflects my growth in understanding how to place words together to create thought-provoking themes about human relationships, trends that correspond to the themes, and writing processes that utilize writing techniques. I think my growth occurred because of my interest in writing about human relationships and experiences within flash fiction and short story pieces.

When a person composes their work, they allow their ideas to dilate into a story that takes their reader into a journey. The journey is not merely for the reader, but for the author. The author gain a writing experience from their journey that guides when they write other material. All writing experiences are depending on the person. Their writing experience can drive them to regularly add more details to enrich their story. On the other hand, a writer can be compelled to critique their work to enhance it. As a writer, I grasped many lessons from my own experience. One of my most memorable writings was a story in addition to a thought-provoking essay. This memorable writing experience was my research paper for my 12th grade English class.

What identifies me as a writer consist of how I work with my writing process. Basically I prepare myself with notes and additional information before I write my paper so it would not be confusing at all. I also go through multiple strategies or steps to write different papers that consist of the majority of typing, distractions, and how I concentrated. My writing process is summarized by three pictures, the first one is a computer screen with in blank besides on line, a boy distracting a girl from reading a book with an airplane, and a person driving into the sunset. These help me most of the time by getting my paper done within a few hours but that takes a lot of effort especially with what types of distractions, how focused I am and if I motivated to type.

It is impossible to produce a piece of writing without creativity and imagination. As the foundation of writing, these aspects of writing creativity enhance the learning experience of oneself and others. Creativity and imagination also serves a therapeutic function by enabling individuals to escape whatever harsh realities they may be forced to endure. In addition, extending far beyond the creation of literature or fiction, these unique aspects of writing also enable one to establish and strengthen their own expressions, empathies, and criticisms of themselves and the world around

I have always believed in the power of the story. From the oral epics of the first civilizations to the blockbuster films showing on the big screen today, storytelling remains a practice at the core of the human experience. The messages contained within them are contagious, spreading through the minds of its audience and impacting the way they see the world. My captivation with stories has inspired me to create stories of my own; for as long as I can remember, my head has been brimming with plots, characters, and worlds. As I grow older, the possibility of my passion making positive contributions has motivated me to pursue my wishes.

Throughout my writing career I never would have considered myself a solid writer as it wasn’t until this semester that I actually received my first A on a paper in my high school or college writing career. This came soon into this semester as I realized that something needed to change for me to give myself a chance at making an A in writing for this semester. These changes I knew needed to come from my writing process as I felt that my process was witholding me from achieving A’s on my writing assignments. After reflecting on my writing process, I concluded that I needed to change the processes by which I wrote and edited my papers. This semester my writing has benefitted from the changes to my writing process in the aspects of writing and editing rough drafts as the quality of my writing has improved since the implementation of breaks in my writing and multi person editing of my rough drafts in my

As Jason and Miss Golden had help reunite William and Daisy, they had walked out into the corridors happy and overwhelmed, this curse was over and not upon Jason anymore. This was not a happy ending for just William and Daisy, but also for Jason and Miss Golden, or so they thought. Going down the flights of stairs, giggling and holding hands, Jason and Miss Golden were already talking about future plans and where to eat out later. Little did you know, William did not feel like letting Jason or Miss Golden go, despite the fact that they helped William and Daisy reunite. The curse may be over, but one was cursed and will fill the pain and suffer.

Sniff* "Mommy...Sniff* Daddy..." The lupine cried out as he laid down inside the beaten up box, wishing for his parents until someone started to shake the box. "L-leave me alone..." He whimpered to the stranger until the shaking stopped and two white hands reached inside and lifted him out of the box. "Hey there... Don't fret little pup I'm a police officer. Why were you in that box? Where are your parents? A white tiger asked with a gentle voice to the frightened pup. Jade noticed the police uniform and tried hard to calm down but failed miserably. "T...T-they are....sniff* There gone! T-there with everyone and left me all alone!" The lupin cried out loud, unable to hold back his warm tears. His breaths could be seen in the cold night air.

I found it exciting to decide in which form I might attempt to introduce myself. I chose a prose or short-story format, as much of my young life I wrote stories. I then chose to write in a way that projected into the future and reflected on the choices I am currently making by imagining what my life would be like as a grandmother. Not only was it a joy to create, but it also gave me insight and validation, that if I continue on my current path, I will be content with where I end up in life. The part of the assignment that most challenged me was the reflection process - I'm so used to just writing and not reflecting on the process of how I came to the ideas I try to translate. This expanded my skills, giving me a new tool for writing, as now I know to reflect on why and how I write. Practicing writing reflections will ultimately give me great insight and continue to force me to consider my own work rather than just accepting it as it is. I enrolled in Creative Writing as a challenge to myself to branch outside of my comfort zone of reading, and reverse the roles by becoming a writer. Coming into this class, I had no previous experience creatively writing; however, I knew that in order to go into my desired profession as a developmental editor for young adult fiction, I must know how to do what I want to tell others to do, write a well formed story. Through my experience in this class, I have had the opportunity to learn about the creative writing process and my personal relationship with it as well as dabble in multiple forms of creative writing, for which I would have never otherwise tried.

Before humans invented writing, we passed stories by word of mouth. When the ancient humans did invent writing, then only a handful of people could write, and not a large number of them used this writing to create stories. However, nowadays, almost anyone can write, so why not apply that to creating a brilliant story stemming from your own imagination? Writing can become a wonderful pastime, or maybe just something that can help boost your English grade. It may seem complicated at first, however, writing stories are soon so simple that this formula becomes a habit - a habit that you will probably find enjoyable.

The first thing before any story can begin is to have a story, but even before that, one must understand that they have to make it their own. Now, this can be difficult for anyone. The story could be real-life and basically impossible to make original, or the author themselves will accidently (or purposely) copy from other authors. The second is a major problem, because no one will want to read a story that they have already read by another author. You have to be entirely original, by try to be as much as you can.
