The attitudes of the teenagers.
Not all teenagers will be rude or disrespectful, but some disrespect is a normal part of teenage growth and development. They are learning to express and test out his/her own independent ideas. Developing independence is a key part of growing up.
A teenager’s mood can change quickly. Because of how teenage brains develop, teenagers are not always able to quickly handle their changing feelings and reactions to everyday or unexpected things, Sometimes this can lead to over-sensitivity.

Today’s generation is really different from before. 48 out 50 have agreed that the attitude of this generation’s teenagers have changed. We can say that this generation became corrupted. Filipino teenagers before doesn’t act this way. They were polite and respectful. Most of the teenagers before are really well trained and disciplined.
The main reason that made the teenagers today different from before is the influence of technology. Back then there were no high tech gadgets. Not like today that we are exposed to many things good or bad. We have the internet, media, and technology. They don’t have that before. We can say that everything they did was through hard work. We teenager grew up in this generation and we got used to it, so if we try to imagine that we lived in the same way they did before, it would be hard. No cellphone, no internet, no computers? We might think that it would be a disaster. The influence of technology is
However, Lesko critiques these three attributes or confident assertions and this opens the discussion as to what are the implications of her critique which is that these attributes are not stable. There is a tension between the assertions and reality, Lesko suggests that that adolescent culture is more complicated than these assertions. Her critiques depict the elusive culture of adolescence, for instance Lesko suggests that adolescents can know themselves over the changing times which is set against what the coming of age attribute theory suggests, “Being in the state of coming of age erases the ability
Welcome everyone to the adolescent brain! Have you ever wondered why your older sister or your best friend is happy one minute then angry the next? Do not fret, it is a normal thing that happens to all of us once we become teenagers. a normal thing with puberty. Mood swings are things all teenagers undergo through because the hormones are in control of their body while you go through puberty. This causes the emotions to be out of whack with the rest of their body! They are all over the place; going up and down, side to side. Wanna learn more? Well then get your popcorn, get comfy, and let us dive into the truth of the adolescent brain. The adolescent brain is a rather young brain; it is not completely developed. There are a couple different
Teenagers are often compared to others, either through academics or athletics, and some end up rebelling against their parents. Teenagers tend to act, dress, speak, and do everything else differently around different groups of people, especially family members and parents. Teenagers are also pushed towards music, which creates an escape
When you thing of the teenagers for this generation; what come to your mind, there lazy, there never going to get a job and just live at their parents’ house for the rest for their life. When people compare the teens and young adults from around my age and a little bit older and then compare them to the past generations. You will find a lot as change from the baby boomers to my generation Y lifestyle. Rosie Evans wrote an article “Boomerang kids; What Are The Causes of Generation Y’s Growing Pain;” In the article she goes over why there is a change in the lifestyles of the youth. Which come to my main idea, why is there a big shift in how the youth grows from young adults to just adults.
My mother would often say of my brother and I have it easier than when she was younger. She says that this generation is a lot lazier and more entitled than hers was. With the newest and latest devices and gadgets coming out every year, she says that the youth feels entitled to have them, but don’t want to do the work to get them. Both of my mom and dad had jobs when they were younger as well as most of their friends, making it her generation's American identity. She explained that there was not as many working laws for teenagers back then for after school jobs. With this came more responsibility, she also said that there was a lot more respect for adults as well as others in general. Things like Facebook allow youth to make rude comments on other’s posts without much thought of what they’re actually
As the decades change so do the teens. Teenagers from the 1960’s won’t exactly have the same ways of thinking or ways of speaking. The way of life back then was completely different and that has an impact on teens today. Old ways are thrown out and newer ones are brought in, attitudes change. Advance technology changes the way we interact with others compared to the 1960’s. The health concerns may or may not be the same as the health concerns in the year 2014. With teens changing constantly, how will the next generation of teens be like?
These teenagers swayed the fashion, the fads and the politics of the decade. They no longer was content to be imaged of the generation ahead of them, young people wanted change. The changes affected education, values, lifestyles, laws and entertainment.
The teenagers I interviewed were all relatively affluent, by all appearances and their own admission, and this in and of itself created some differences between their perspectives and my own. In general, however, I think that the passage of time and the different values and perspectives of parents and of teenagers in the current era are more responsible for the changes in responses that I observed in the interview as opposed to what I myself might have said as a teenager in answer to the questions posed in the interview. What they liked about being a teenager was relative freedom while still being able to depend on their parents, and they disliked the rules and the amount of activities they had; they went on to mention "best things" that included things ranging from romantic partners to video games, and "worst things" that focused primarily on various aspects of school specific teachers, subjects, etc. I, on the other hand, would have said that my independence was what I liked the most about being a teenager, as this was the time in my life when my parents made it clear that I both would and should depend on them less for transportation, keeping myself organized, etc. I disliked the amount of responsibility I had to some degree, but all of my responsibilities were things of my own choosing and would have also represented the best thing in my life (the extracurricular activities that I chose to participate in).
Monica A. Steff, a lot of the research on adolescents in the 1980s emphasized on family relations (Gecas & Steff, 1990). A lot of “storm and stress” research done on adolescents found that adolescence was not particularly a turbulent time and most of them had good relationships with their parents. Gecas and Steff also mentions a study conducted by Steinberg, Elmen, and Mounts in 1989 that found that about 75% of adolescents are very close and identify with their parents. Studies that reported increased conflict between adolescent and parent indicated that most of the conflicts were over minor issues such as appearance or music taste, not major values (1990). In a study Gecas and Steff mentions, over 6,000 adolescents from Japan, Israel, Hungary, West Germany, Italy, Australia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Taiwan, and the U.S., which found that most of the adolescents were found to be positive attitudes towards their families and themselves, high interests in work, and occupational goal (1990). These researchers explain that the degree in which the adolescents face conflict and rebellion vary within the historical changes within the society. As one can tell, there are mixed views as how society members look at
Ilocano youngsters typify the characteristics of the modern teenagers who are slowly being torn between tradition and modernization.
My day just started and I’m already beyond stressed; I had to wake up, fix my hair, put on makeup, find my suit, and then bring myself here, ugh. As a high school student, I go through a good bit of stress trying to juggle advanced placement classes, clubs, a social life, a job, and writing this oratory; it seems like I never get a break. According to the American Psychological Association, high school students score a 5.8 on a ten point scale of stress during the school year, whereas adults score a 5.1. To put those scores in context, the APA suggests that the healthy level for a high school student is a score of 3.9. Clearly, teens are inundated with high levels of stress, and to make matters worse, the adults around them often refuse
Have you ever been dissatisfied with the society growing up? You are not alone. Many youngsters were dissatisfied with the society that they were growing up in. That discontent can turn into a resource and become a basis that fuels progress and innovation. That innovation and change might have been brought in later years, but profound experiences teenagers had during their adolescence shaped their worldviews and made them hungry for a change.
Teenagers are more than capable of achieving great tasks in the future as well as causing great destruction with every skill stapled in their mind as they grow. Good and evil will determine the effects of which path a young mind its taught so that’s why parents must educated well with good intensions for a better future. The age of a teenager shows history how it transformed the world including the United States by family values, the high school, and dangerous adolescences etc. What teenagers did was start a fashion changing the world and its rules, becoming rebellious toward their parents values for
Teenage is a fundamental stage of life that each human being passes through. Some people face this period of their life strongly and positively, while others face many problems and difficulties. The teenagers in today's society are not much different than the teenagers 30 years ago. Some of the aspects of the teen life have changed but the basics remain the same.
