I choose to come to Colby-Sawyer College because it was a liberal arts college. I was not sure what I wanted to major in, but I knew that if I went to a liberal arts college, I would be allowed to take a number of different classes and this would help me figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Freshman year I took Future Trends which was a pathway class about predicting trends that are happening in society and in the world around us. This class directly connected with my marketing class because it gave me the tools help me predict future trends in my marketing class when we did the backpack simulation. This has been so beneficial because I was able to use the knowledge I learned in my other classes and connect it with my business classes. …show more content…
For my event management class I learned firsthand what it is like to plan and host events. Each student in the class was able to implement what we learned from the class by hosting a fundraising event for Relay for Life and a campus event for our former president Tom Galligan. called the Galligan games. For my Advertising and Social Media class my group and I were able to work with the admissions department to help reach more perspective students by creating email blast and a fun video series to show perspective students what it is like to be a college student.
I learned so much about myself and became more confident in who I am. I learned that I am not good at accounting or finance and that you will probably never see me walking down Wall Street. This semester I learned that I have a new passion for health and wellness. I love learning about nutrition and how to fuel your body properly. My business classes taught me how to get out of my comfort zone and be able to present in front of a large number of people. I learned so much about myself that I would not have learned if I did not come to a liberal arts
Southern University A&M College welcomed Dr. J.S. Clark as the new African American leader and president in 1914 after the big move. As Dr. Clark as president, he made numerous improvements on campus and off campus. He established a Junior College, teacher-training curriculum, Agricultural Extension Program, a summer normal school, six brick buildings for instructional activities, five brick dormitories, and eleven wooden structures for the faculties. Before his retirement came, he funded money from the government to build a library, a football stadium, an administration building, a gymnasium, and additional dormitories. During this time period, Felton G. Clark, J.S. Clark only son, was one of Southern’s most promising
I have the answers to question # 2 and 3 for Collin College. Please see below and let me know if you have any questions or need any additional supporting documentation or information.
One huge impact I learned instantly is how you communicate with your client. I had to strengthen my communication skills because I needed to communicate with my clients in vocabulary that I knew they would understand. Communicating with a fellow peer, who is knowledgeable about taxes, is a different situation that of when you are speaking with a client. A client most likely doesn’t know the exact, in-depth details about taxes, which can lead to complications and confusion, so I had to adjust my lexicon to fit the clients’ needs and understanding. Also, working with partners was great. It gave me an opportunity to work with others and solve problems in a group. Sometimes, when one of us didn’t know the answer, the other one would step in and help. Also, I felt like the class was a gigantic supportive group because we would ask and answer each other questions, when we a confused about a topic or area.

Mrs. Bell didn't have big expectations because she was the first in her family to attend college. She really had no clue what she was getting into which her expectations didn't differ.

In the fall of 1970, three long-haired men sought to register to attend Tyler Junior College in the fall semester. When they arrived to register, they were snubbed by a school official after receiving a copy of the dress code, due to the length of their hair. They were informed that they would be allowed to attend the college upon cutting their hair to the required length. After discussing the injustice of this act, these three men filed a suit against the dress code of Tyler Junior College. The plaintiffs claimed the portion of the dress code regarding hair length was a violation of their constitutional rights, specifically the rights afforded to them under the fourteenth amendment.
Cypress College ranked #1 community college in California. There must be reasons of this brilliant result. Cypress College provides a great variety of useful services for students’ success. Health Center services support its students to achieve better results. One’s overall health is very closely related with achieving one’s goal. The Health Center services in Cypress College are very helpful to achieve students’ goals because they provide physical and psychological services, and most are free for all students who are enrolled in Cypress College.
I am interested in Central Connecticut State University because it offers a solid Engineering program. Central has a beautiful campus and both my Father and Mother attended Central Connecticut State University. CCSU has a small campus with a relatively small student body. I value the oppurtunity to have a more personal relationship with my
I also decided to go to Delta College because it was the best fit for me. I think it is a great school that has a lot to offer. I really enjoy how I have been able to do a lot of my prerequisites online, which helps out a lot with having a 1 1/2 year old at home. Good luck with your degree in Criminal
I think it is hard to tell whether Carroll University, as an institution, encourages a successful learning environment. I am certain that this is an institutional goal for Carroll. However, when we look at college level education, I get the sense that professors tend to have a little more freedom (and resources available) when it comes to teaching. This may make it easier for a professor to adjust a class/classroom as described in this week’s reading (Hannah) in order to meet the needs of his/her students. This, in my mind, makes a successful learning environment much more dependent on the instructor rather than the institution itself (although the institution can certainly have an effect on the learning environment). Overall, though, I would
Summary: Southwestern University is a state college in Stephenville, Texas. The college is known for its Football and have been in the top 20 in the rankings since the appointment of legendary Bo Pitterno in 2001 as the Head coach for the team.
