I don't think Phil gets angry very much at Dan, I mean he gets annoyed and all and Dan apologizes and pecks him on the cheek and whenever he gets just normal mad instead of yelling he goes to his room to calm down and cool off and when he's ready he goes and talks about the problem. Dan can sense when Phil is annoyed or just kind of mad and apologizes and kisses him and thinks it all goes away. But, when Phil gets really angry, so angry he can't control himself like that anymore, he will start shouting at him and roaring and Dan will go pale because this doesn't happen often but he just knows what is gonna happen to him next, and when Phil's done Dan will just drop to his knees and beg for forgiveness because he knows he screwed up. Phil will …show more content…
When they finish there's always an apology, and the day or so after the fight always leaves Dan on eggshells because Phil is very creative and Dan doesn't know if he's going to conveniently come up with a new idea to spice things up, the last time Phil said that he was edged over and over again until he was crying, just repeating the mantra of "god Phil please please please" until Phil takes mercy on him, watching his beautiful boy fall apart underneath him and forget about the stress and the pressure of everyday life. Usually however, they just get really cuddly the day after a punishment, because Phil can't keep his hands off his bear and Dan still has that tiny part of him left over from when he was younger, that constant insecurity and fear that he's nothing Phil or that Phil will leave him if he's not perfect and he knows he's crazy when he thinks he's not good enough, he's grown up enough to understand that Phil loves him with all of his heart and nothing could ever change that, but Dan still needs the reassurance some
Phil Connors has the personality of a selfish man. This was shown in the movie when he approached a stranger named Nancy and proceeded to ask personal questions about herself so that he can use the answers the very next day to get the chance of sleeping with Nancy. He then managed to sleep with Nancy and definitely deceived her when she asked whether this was just a one-night stand, and he simply replied “On the contrary Nancy. I love you” This shows Phil’s selfish side because he was using Nancy just for his advantage and treated her like an
When Pam returns to the group from her retreat, the mood immediately becomes darker when she sees Philip in her “cozy” group. She does not feel comfortable having him in the group because he had caused her so much pain in the past. Julius found it hard to find “forgiveness” for Philip, but he tried to identify with him to try to understand why he would have done the things he did. Tony sided with Pam and questioned some of Philip’s statements, whereas Rebecca defended Philip against Tony’s “attacks”. Stuart also seemed to protect Philip against Tony’s attacks. He reminded Tony that he hadn’t seemed sorry for his sexual assault charges in the past. At the end of this confrontational chapter, Pam behaved towards Philip as if he were invisible. Farther on into the “role changes”, Pam revealed that she felt defiled that Philip was a part of her group. He was also, in a way, taking away her role as the intellectual of the group. In order to handle these various changes, Julius tries to understand where each person is coming from, whether it is Pam, Philip, Tony, etc. Additionally, he made sure that each group member voiced what
Philip has a cocky attitude
Phil changes after convincing Rita that he is reliving the same day and she tells him to make the most of it. He starts allowing reason and character to weigh in on his appetites, thus following the path to Ultimate Happiness. By listening to these sides of his soul, Phil begins to show both Moral and Intellectual virtues. His moral virtue increases as he begins helping the townspeople including: a boy falling from a tree, old ladies with a flat tire, a homeless man, and a man who is choking. Intellectually, Phil pursues the piano and masters French along with French poetry, allowing him to prosper in a rational sense. All of these examples show how Phil begins to live a virtuous
“In a few sentences I had discovered more about Dan than I had learned in being around him for several months. It made me realize how closed-mouthed he had been”(237). Although Nerburn and Dan are complete strangers at first, Dan has an understanding of Nerburn because of his ability to observe him. While Nerburn doesn’t learn much about Dan unless it is said. Nerburn’s understanding of Dan doesn’t start forming until later in the book because of how he likes to keep the upper hand, but when Nerburn learned more about Dan from his granddaughter, he began to develop a whole new understanding of Dan.
Billy reports, “Old Dan, seeing the fate of his little friend (Little Ann), had quit the chase and come back to help her” (115). Dan quit chasing the coon and went over to assist Little Ann when she was in trouble. This shows that Old Dan is loyal to Little Ann. Also, Old Dan only hunts with one specific hound. Billy announces, “[Old Dan] would not hunt with another hound, other than Little Ann … he would not hunt, even with me, unless Little Ann was with him” (102).
The duel finally came to a truce (sort of) when Liz spoke to him in regards to the incident. "Look it's not a big deal alright. It's not like you failed. You passed. So stop acting like a child and get over yourself already."
In response to Question 9, the most remarkable thing I thought was how Louie and Phil were able to keep a positive mindset throughout the whole situation. Even after losing most of their crew, eating raw animals, and surviving a Japanese bomber, they somehow kept their heads up and didn’t give up hope. If you were to take someone in today’s society, granted that our society is much more different, and put them into Louie and Phil’s position, I guarantee you that most, if not all of them will lose their minds within the first few days, if not hours. The strength to keep going day after day is just phenomenal.
Phil is not a stereotypical man in a leader position. His appearance does not give you a sense of being secure. His body type is far from what you would see as a superhero. According to Charlotte Jirousek, most muscular men could not come close to this superhero image. These fitness types bare resemblance to Greek people, with sleek lines throughout the body and limited definition. Few men could be this body type, except for a few body builders and maybe some football players (Jirousek 235). His body type is very frail, especially for the amount of masculinity he has. Phil is probably one of the strongest characters in the entire series, but he never gives it off that he is. Phil also listens to the people surrounding him, which tears down the stereotype of men being stubborn. Phil also has a strong connection to his emotional self, showing many times throughout the episode that he was making decisions for May and himself, and not basing his decision on the analytics. He does have a penchant of making too many rash decisions. This enforces a stereotype on men that men tend to make decisions before they think about it. When males watch Phil Coulson and how he holds himself high, they will not feel as uncomfortable about what they look
Almost everyone has heard the saying, “The straw that broke the camel's back.” It means the amount of conflict someone carries pushes down on them until the final one forces them to reach their breaking point. Dana has to
murphy believes he can get the best of her, but does he know the consequences that will flow if she does lose her temper, I feel that murphy does not have a clear plan for the aftermath and that it will cost him his life. Why does he anger her when nobody's around? For example the towel incident was a huge risk, which made me believe he might not be as smart as I thought of him.
Dan tries to negotiate with Coach Garriek on when he can come back. Coach Garriek wants Dan to come back but he cannot because of his leg. “Dan, I talked to your doctors, you will never do this again.” After the coach said that Dan stormed off. He goes into the trophy room and stands there and stares at the trophies.
Phil is a literal ray of sunshine. Phil never stops smiling. The only time he is not smiling he is joking with his roommate and pretending to be serious, or he is concentrating on something. I learned to look at the bright side of things and put the negative behind me. Phil never pulls away first in a hug because he thinks you might need the hug. In Phil’s video called ‘A Day in the Life of Dan and Phil in London’ Phil and Dan were making stir fry but they didn’t have soy sauce, so Dan made Phil go to the store to buy soy sauce, the store didn’t have any soy sauce and he was to awkward to leave without buying anything so he bought a kinder egg.
Everyone is looking to get something out of life. Phil wants to get stardom out of life; he wants, like most people, to become someone that people look up to, but he does not realize that people do not always look up to weather reporters. Phil is also very rude and centered on himself. Every time he talks he points to how great he is. He also needs other people to fail so that he looks good. His sense of success is based externally on how good he is compared to others.
Something like that is not the most pleasant thing in the world for Dan. Not only that, but it also creates a very awkward situation for him knowing that his daughter is sleeping with his boss. After finding out that they were secretly together, there was personal conflict between the two, like the scene where Dan punched Carter in the face. The confrontation also lead to the breakup of Carter and Dan’s daughter’s relationship, causing Carter to feel heartbroken. As a result, Dan punching his boss goes against work ethics and they both did not respect each other as either an employee or a
