How do you demonstrate success in your life? Well if you are wondering, my success occurs in many forms and has many meanings. It includes being happy with myself and being where I want to be in life. My success also typically means finishing something that I have worked hard at. Right now, I feel great for the accomplishment of my academic success in this Summer Term-A 2016 at Miami Dade College. Where I am excelled my previous performances, such as better tests grade, engage in classroom activities, and articulate myself in public. Moreover, my academic success ranges from getting an A on a test or paper to learn from my professors, my fellow peers, and my failures. The leadings factors that result my success in this term at Miami Dade College are time management, study skills, and personal factors.
Primarily, before I was able to use my time management skill to benefit my academic success as a student at Miami this term, I had to follow certain procedures. The first thing I did in the beginning of this semester was that I created a, To Do, list to help me identify a few items and the reasons for doing them. I create these lists every Sunday to guide me through my weeks of school. The first thing in the list is to make sure I go to sleep on time, so I can wake up on time and arrive on time in class every day. Another method I follow is the daily and weekly planner which helps me writing down my appointments, classes’ times, and meetings’ times on a
Using some simple time management skills can give the student the ability to complete tasks without feeling overwhelmed. Insufficient communication between myself and the school also crippled my studies. Over this course, I’ve learned to excel as a student the importance of new time management skills. The transition although stressful is exciting and eye opening. It's a completely different experience versus the typical college classes I was involved in when I enrolled in traditional college after high school. I will admit I am disappointed in myself this course for falling behind, being side tracked I’m unsure how far behind I’ve become. College is indirectly served to have fun, make new friends, and learn about ourselves. As an attendant at Miami-Dade College I would never forget the real reason for enrolling in this institution. Any other individual who is a current student should know that education is the knowledge of putting potential to maximum use. Throughout the semester I have been given various assignments and objectives to comprehend making it challenging. At Miami-Dade College, the professors offer a variety of ways that can ensure academic success. My academic success this semester came with being able to be self-motivated, communicate with professors, and use available resources throughout the campus.
Success is regretfully measured by the fame of the accomplishment. Instead, I measure success on the internal impacts I make in the hearts of those around me. If admitted into the University of Florida, I plan to do these three SPECIFIC things during my time on campus.
The fall months can be a stressful, but rewarding time for me. Being a member of the dance team and marching band often takes up a majority of my time outside of school. Many days of the week, difficult homework assignments were a part of my daily workload; these nights often became tiring and stressful. At times, all these activities imparted a large amount of stress for me, and posed challenged me to be successfully in all activities. In order to succeed through this difficult period, my time management skills were necessary. I learned to prioritize different assignments and projects in order to complete them in a timely fashion by setting long and short term goals. Having gone through STP, I learned that I still need help combating procrastination. My time management throughout the Summer Transitional Program was the best that it has ever been in my entire schooling career. However, I know that my time management still needs to improve in order for me to easily complete each assignment. One thing that has been a tremendous help was learning how to implement a to-do list and writing assignments down. Having a schedule makes it easier to remember what I have to do.
I have made sure, and will continue to make sure that I stay organized at all times. This has enabled me to keep on top of my work and I hope it will continue to help me in the future. Also I have been able to budget my time in a very efficient way thus far. I have successfully divided time slots that have allowed me to have enough time to complete each assignment with ease. Unfortunately I have also seen what my weaknesses will be in this first week. I noticed that I could be distracted very easily. It only takes one mention of food, a movie, or to simply go visit a friend from distracting me from studying. Procrastinating was always a problem I had in high school and I hoped I would be able to break that habit in college. I know that I can manage my time well and I do so when I finally decide to start working. It is just that initial step that always seems to be the hardest. I will use the resources that SLU offers such as the student success center and take the tips I learn in this University 101 class in order to get around my roadblocks while also improving what I am already good
I feel stress with constantly being on a time schedule, but if I could manage my time more efficiently my performance in my class will improve. Understanding myself like how I learn best and having the right mind set will also develop a better study skill and performance. Learning doesn’t come easy for me but if I could figure out my best learning strategy I will definitely acquire better grades and I might even notice additional time in my schedule. Becoming a better student takes time but being committed to these improvements will make a difference in my academic
College Entrance Essay Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Everyone is successful in their own individual ways. I am successful academically and in athletics. I plan on using my achievements and success to get into a good school. In college I want to become a nurse.
As we reach the end of our time in this course. It is now time to take all that we have learned throughout this course and carry it with us not just through our academic career but through life itself. Many of our goals in life are to achieve academic success, so that in result we will be able to pursue success in life. How can we achieve academic success? A million dollar question for many students in this class that now with this knowledge will be able to move forward toward to academic success.
Socially, I define success by asking your teacher for help when you need it, participating, and being active in discussions to be successful. Also, when I am playing soccer with my teammates, working together, and striving for our common goal we can achieve success. Academically, if I stay organized, put schoolwork first, and study hard, I can easily achieve success. Personally, if I take my responsibilities more seriously, I can be successful.
My smart goal for this semester was to spend more time on studying, which would help me to get an A in most of my classes. The reason I chose this goal was to maintain my GPA because I will transfer next semester. I planned to start my program by the first day of the semester, which gives me plenty of time to achieve my goal. I set up some steps in order to get into this habit.The first step was to organize my time. I planned to list everything that I have to do and I put notes of how much time each priority will take out of my schedule. I also dedicate 30 hours per week to college studies, including the time I spend in lecture. After three months of following these steps, I feel like I organized my day in a very good way.The second step was
When I first evaluated myself in the study skill academic test, time management was my weakest skill overall. This was priority in terms of skill development because I would always leave things till the last minute and stress myself out trying to turn in things on time. In order to improve this I made a smart goal to carry out in the beginning of the year. Now after some time, the results of my progression are shown. My smart goal that I created for myself regarding my time management planned out very well, I was able to successfully accomplish a majority of my assignments on time. I would review the material of the week on Monday’s and compile all of the assignments due for the week. The monthly calendar was also a key factor in helping me keep up to date in the month so see what where upcoming tasks the following week. If I needed more clarification on certain tasks then I would login and check the syllabus.
There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what’s expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished.
How I manage time is a reflection of what I value. Managing my time corresponds to how successful I will be in college and throughout life. Knowing and setting priorities to meet goals, carrying out plans, taking control of time, and staying focused are some events that are involved with time management. For many of us, balancing school with work and family is the greatest challenge involved with prioritizing. Good advance planning will help in meeting these challenges. Time management is the key thing of successful. I am not good in managing time because I don’t organize my study time carefully and not use my time wisely during work. I always leave everything until the last minute, and sometimes I do unimportant things like playing games, surfing internet and watching movie, but actually I know there a lot of work to finish off. I get to the bottom of this crisis and try to systematize my study and set up my work. I make a schedule of revision, and I put a date where I need to complete the schoolwork. I also make a small target, for example, I want to understand the concept of heat transfer by the end of this week, and I have to achieve it no matter what. I
