Design Questions Criterion D Evaluate How successful was your presentation and how did your presentation communicate equality and fairness of all? [Also added with the challenges that we faced and process of getting to the final product] The things that we found good was that our editing was good as for the fact that we didn’t have any spelling mistakes, grammar and punctuation errors. But what we think we could improve on is that we should of made a backup plan if Animaker didn’t work. We were left with lots of options on what program to do our presentation on which was time-consuming. The challenges that we found was to decide on a program and to operate the program properly. We were first doing Animaker but due to unknown white …show more content…
Overall for our presentation our audience gave us a Very good which we are greatly proud of and appreciate. We are glad that our audience didn’t give us an excellent because we certainly were low in presentation skills when compared to others. Improvements Furthermore, our audience commented us on to make the slides longer but again we can’t do anything about that because the Wifi made the slide stuck and made it speed off. We do agree with that statement but we do apologise for the technical errors. Also we weren’t allowed to do a voiceover on Animaker because as we have reached our maximum limit of adding images, text and slides. This didn’t allow us to do a voice over. We were also glad that our audience got our message and learned some new and extraordinary facts. To make our feedback fair we actually gave students who don’t talk with us much because we want to know our strengths and weaknesses. Some may have been our friends but most weren’t. Write a paragraph debating “What is the most powerful tool we can use to communicate meaning to an audience? Whether you are persuading your peers that your topic was a struggle or impact the power of your presentation makes the difference between success and failure. Those tool beside the program are your key to make an audience engaged and make a powerful meaning. Digital presentations are the new technology in the 20th century used to communicate
A variety of communication media can be considered when planning to produce a presentation, for example verbal communication and written communication, each type of communication media has its advantages and limitations. When developing my presentation I decided to use both verbal and written communication, although both communication methods were used I had to ensure that they were used in the correct quantities. To keep my presentation engaging I tried to use as much visual representation as possible limiting the amount of text per slide. I chose to use PowerPoint because of its combination of written and verbal communication (not to mention the cost effectiveness of choosing PowerPoint and simplistic interface); the written aspects included the text on the slides, screenshots and images. The screenshots proved particularly useful as they was of the actual database used in the daily running of the Apprenticeships Store, once paired with the demonstration of inputting data into the database it ensured greater understanding due to more practical learning as opposed to theoretical learning. More detail was provided in my handouts ensuring I didn’t give too much information at once and this allowed the audience to document any supplementary information I said during the presentation, by speaking and interpreting what was on the slides ensured the presentation remained fluid and
PowerPoint’s ease of communication and efficiency make it attractive in a classroom, but centralizes control with teacher and promotes passivity among students by objectifying knowledge. Its simple structure and visual “arousal” work to capture and easily transmit the material to the audience. Generally, a presentation is done by one or several individuals to a group of students, whom sit back, scrolling through Facebook, superficially receiving the content without truly digesting it. Essentially, a PowerPoint presentation centralizes control of the class in the hands of the presenter (often the teacher) “to passive receivers (the students)”. Teaching pre-packaged information without allowing for critical thinking is merely undermining and objectifying the knowledge. Teachers are so enthralled by this new technology they miss how their educational system remains stagnant, continuing as the banking model.
Eric, I think your presentation is really clear and informative. I like the choices you made on the font type and color, it popped with the images that you used. I think that your points are well stated and easy to read and understand. The only thing that I can see that you might want to consider is adding more frames so that you could include even more information on the topic. I think that you did a nice job with the Prezi presentation, I was very worried about using Prezi myself, as it is completely new to
Having those makes my presentation deserving more than one point that I got from the class. Regarding about using the apple during my presentation is so risky because I do not eat apples, but in order to do an effective presentation I must do it and also there is a big purpose of it and that why I have to include the apple. Next is gesture, I think I did good on moving my hands because I actually used it to express on what I am going to say. And on my visual aids, I think there is no error and I used all the high quality pictures and somehow those pictures are connected to the topic that I talked about. Lastly, my appearance, I dressed up for that presentation because of the requirements even I hate wearing professional clothes. For my perspective, I think I still deserved more than one vote, but that is my personal perspective and it already happened, so I cannot do anything with
I loved your presentation specially because you chose Animation as your target. Animated movies are my favorite and getting to know more about was definitely fun. Is very interesting to know how far animation has come after all these years. You presented enough information and details about the art you chose which made it very easy and simple to understand. Looking back to the silent era we can see how much animated movies has evolved. Since technology wasn’t a huge thing back then I must give credit to the producers for doing such a great job. Colors in animated movies play a huge role since colors is one of the first thing that gets the viewers’ attention and I was able to notice that when I had to watch a black and white animated
I feel as though I addressed my goals effectively through my visuals and the video. I did everything I intended on doing for my presentation and was very proud of the outcome of it. One thing I would have done differently is I would have created a script beforehand to present more smoothly and I would have added some statistics to help support my points I made.
The presentation went fine. Everyone in the group show up on time. I was nervous and I could not communicate my thoughts clearly. The other people in the group did a good job presenting. The crowd could have ask questions instead of waiting for class to be over. I also wish that the SXU database could have have better sources to
His voice tone was to soft (quiet voice) which could provoke to the audience to lost some interest or lack of focus.
My volume and background noise was perfect and I made sure to try and keep a smile in my voice to try and mask my nervousness! Based on the feedback of my audience, I do believe that my message was received loud and clear on the presentation. Also, the questions from the others made me feel like they thought what I was saying was very interesting. My conclusion, in my opinion, was very soft and wasn’t as strong as it needed to be. I tried to be sure that I left my audience with something to think about and try and maybe go on a scavenger hunt in their daily lives to find things that may be a skill I did not list. As with everything, I need improvement in a few areas. The use of the word “um” needs to be nonexistent! Maybe that was my anxiety and nervousness coming out? Either way, I need to eliminate the word from my vocabulary especially when presenting. Also, with my tone of voice, in a few sections, sounded like I was reading off paper. Even if I was those few times, I need to change how I read and my tone when reading. My storylines were off the topic in one section, so I need to be able to go over my presentation and outline a few times before going live to make sure I am saying everything I want to say at the appropriate
Context wise it was too much but hopefully, half of it was correctly analyzed. My weakness is in presenting I tend to be a bit anxious if I know that I haven’t prepared well. I focused too much on the visual aids (
When my team first submitted the powerpoint to Dr. Schmidt, we got the comment of putting too much words on the slides. After each member spent about one hour making the slides more compact and more vivid with pictures, we were all feeling better for the presentation. Since it was a competition , each member tried the best to master the materials and think of the most effective way to explain those concepts to our classmates. Prior to the presentation, we met up early to practice and listen to each other's part to see if any changes were needed. Although the
Kirk Osborn is the Managing Director at Thinking Ledge LLC. During his presentation, he was trying to show the students how to master the art of presenting. Consequently, from his presentation, I was able to learn several presentation skills and how to engage with the audience. One thing that I liked the most from his presentation was his interaction with the audience. Instead of using several PowerPoint slides to sell the product, “Transmeta”, he was successfully able to engage with the audience by talking about real-life examples that people could relate to.
According to me I did my best, I knew I was nervous but still I did it. So I think I truly satisfied with my contribution to this presentation. Also by looking my group members face impressions I feel myself that I really did well. When I tell my introduction to my group members then some off them ask me question about my life, which gives me idea that my introduction was seems interesting to my group members. So that why they want to knew more further about it after the
Making a good first impression is important as it often lays the foundation of how people perceive you, and therefore, the way in which they chose to interact with you. Presentations portray the apex of this effect, as a good lecture will capture its listeners’ attention, while a poorly designed exhibition will put off its respective audience within moments of its commencement. The presentation shown in the video “Worst ever pitch, worst ever product on BBC’s Dragon’s Den” has several examples of what not to do for a presentation. . The show “Dragon’s Den” places presenters in front of prospective financial backers in order generate money so they can further their products. When building a presentation you should understand
In my opinion, my content flowed well and was all interconnected, however in future I should pause between each slide to allow the audience to absorb what I’m saying and also include a linking sentence to establish relevance and to connect the slides together. If I had to do the presentation again, I would focus on making it more interesting and animated instead of being heavily theory based/ serious in order to appeal to those audiences which prefer a more entertaining presentation style instead of
