It was a cold February evening. The snow fell from the sky and onto Deer Trail. The sun was just setting as the car was pulling into the drive way of my house. “Thanks for driving me!” I said to my friend and her mom as I stepped out of the car. “No problem!” they replied as I shut the door of the red car. I walked up to the front door with my soccer bag over my shoulder. I walked into my house kicking my cleats off and throwing my bag onto the floor. I saw my mom sitting on the couch of the living room with her iPad on her lap. “What are you doing?” I questioned. “I'm looking for dogs to adopt.” My mom said. My eyes lit up! I already had a dog, Lucy, but she would never play with us. She would just lie around all day. My mom and I were recently talking about getting a new dog so Lucy would have someone to play with. “We don’t need another …show more content…
It felt like a year had gone by for this moment to happen. My family and my current dog Lucy rushed into the car and drove to West Bloomfield, Michigan. While I was in the car, I played on my phone and stared out the window of the car at the landscape. After the hour drive, we finally arrived at the house that Freddy was at. My family and I walked into the house. There were many rooms in the house that had white crates, cages, and tanks that had many different animals like fish, cats, birds, and even mice! The owner of the house guided us to the down stairs where the dogs stayed. There was a big room that the dogs could play in and a smaller room that had cages where the dogs stayed. The owner, Nancy, got Freddy out of the room and brought him into the larger room. He was very playful and would run around the room a lot. I remember when I would bounce tennis balls on the wall and they would go flying in different directions. Freddy would chase after the balls and bring them back to me. Whenever Freddy went around Lucy, they would mess around and Freddy would try to bite Lucy’s ears and annoy
Ever since I was little, I always wanted a dog. My mother and I realized that we had nothing to do. We decided to look up shelters. 11 years later, I finally convinced my mother to bring me to the animal shelter. On November 27, 2016, my mother and I went on an hour long drive to Pets Inc. At that instant, my mother pointed out that Pets Inc. was open. After we examined the website, we decided it was not too far away, and we could make the drive. We got in the car, and drove to Pets Inc. Finally, we got there, and we went inside. At first, I walked around for a while and pet some dogs. There was a dog named Palmetto, I really wanted her. Sadly, we could not get her due to the
In 2008, I spent the summer with my Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins in Missouri. They picked me up at the airport, and the car ride was filled with discussion about a puppy they had just gotten 2 days prior. It was explained that my cousins wanted a dog since their friends’ family had gotten a dog recently. My Uncle, happy to oblige, stopped at a neighbor’s house one day, who was giving away puppies they could not care for, as is common in small town America. He picked out the cutest one and went on his way. The family was so happy to have “Roxy” in their home and on their farm.
I sat there in confusion as to what had just happened, when I was pleasantly greeted with five people who saw it all go down. I reluctantly shrugged it off, and we continued our journey, yet again.. We began to walk up a dirt trail up to the part of the park where you see all of Franklin. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful spot there, where I could spend this special afternoon with my favorite people. As we stood on the balcony, overlooking the scenery, Laura, was the next one to have an incident with the soccer ball. I looked away for one second and back again to realize that she had thrown the ball in the air, let it bounce, and continued to follow it with her eyes, and arms, as it went over the ledge. Everyone stood there, again in awe, laughing at the fact we had lost the ball, again. Payton and I traveled underneath the balcony, trying to pinpoint where the ball was, with the people above, directing us in the right way. Minutes went by of trying to maneuver our way through the rocks, and steps to get it, when all a sudden, we were all graced with the high pitched sound of Payton, who had just been greeted with the feeling of stepping on a
At sixteen, I received my first job, and by the age of seventeen, I purchased my first car. While the car was only worth about $200.00, I gave the seller $1200.00. Along with overpaying, the car did not have a title of ownership. When I first purchased this car, I had the understanding with the seller that the vehicle had a salvage title, but only a bill of sell was given with the car. However, this was still not my worst experience with this automobile. From the inside to the outside, to under the hood, and even on paper, this car was an illegally procured nightmare.
Waking up the morning that I was meant to leave for my trip, all that I could do was try to will my bladder not to have to use the bathroom and inconvenient amount of times and trying to decipher the correct amount of water that I should drink in order to not have to go. When I woke up a peed, before I left, I peed, when I got to Anna’s house I peed again just for good measure- and that was all within a couple of hours. When we finally left on our 8 hour journey my new mantra was “don’t think about having to pee” which as you can assume was the adverse of what I was trying to do. For the first 3 hours I didn’t have to go, and I was so proud of myself. After that I gained some confidence and was like “I got this, I will pee when
The car is a servant to the man is vivid to me because you can take a car to get places. The man drives the car like a jet is also vivid to me. I can see a man driving his car like a jet. The car is a restaurant another unusual one to me because I can’t picture it in my mind. The car is a word of the device would be another unusual one to me because I am not sure what it means. The car is a night club surprising to me because I can’t picture it as a nightclub. The car is a holder of mail is vivid to me because I keep mail in my car all the time. The woman uses the car as a glamour studio would be a surprising one to me because I would use the bathroom to glamour myself. The car is a family shuttle vivid to me because I can see a family using
I started up my car, just like any other normal day. Just a normal day I told myself, a normal day. I forgot the gift I bought for Lindsey, which I had been meaning to give her, but she hadn’t been to work for a couple days. I quickly hopped out and grabbed it. It was a T-Shirt of her favorite band, Green Day. As the traffic sauntered along at the normal traffic jam pace, acting like they had nowhere to be, my hands grew sweaty and my stomach twisted into knots. My hand slipped as I was turning and I almost lost control of the car. Just a normal day. I tried looking in the glove compartment for a couple smokes before work, but found my gun. The power such a small thing contained. The ability to take someone’s life, silence them forever. It felt too powerful. That’s why I have to carry one. We all carry one, but so do they.
I felt shaky, and excited at the same time, because I was going to have a chance of having a dog. As I felt my nerves starting to tremble, me, my sister, my mom, my dad, and brother hopped into the car. We were rushing to get to Santa Monica to go meet some dogs at Much Love Animal Rescue. As we were on the road, I was thinking of the dogs my mom had shown me on the website. “Flower, a pitbull mix, Lance, a beagle whippet, and Thor, a papillon and shi tzu mix.” I nodded my head.
Almost four years ago, my parents decided to surprise my sister, Hannah, and me by getting a dog. It all started when we drove up to the house of an “old friend” of my parents. When we walked up to the front door, we saw a wooden sign of a Portuguese Water Dog, hanging from a window on the door, and it occurred to Hannah and I what was going on. A lady came to the door, holding what was about to be our new dog. The next we brought home sweet, little Bella.
I approached a particularly large puppy of the group with a felt blue collar, scooping him up into my arms. His paws were the size of his mother’s, he had definitely not grown into them yet. As we passed him around resembling the game hot potato, he snuggled into each of our arms. His dark eyes matched his nose, his curly, golden white coat framing them. But as we picked up the other puppies, my feelings weren’t as strong and true as they were when I was holding the fuzzy dog with the blue collar. My parents, my sister and I exchanged looks of agreement. This was the dog for our
Mom and dad, I know what you immediately thought when I left you that note. Oh no she’s gonna ask for something. Well, you're right. I want a dog. Wait, before you turn this off, listen to the whole thing. Please and thank you. Let me start with the fact that Mac is lonely. He whines all the time, you even say so yourself. Well, that is simply because, as www.dogbreed.info.com puts it, dogs are pack animals, meaning they have an instinct to live among a group. It is not natural for dogs to be alone and it can sometimes be hard for them to accept it. Yes, I’ve done my research. It would be such a help to animals if we adopted them, especially if we got them from EDCR. If we did this, we would also benefit. I have a list of the steps you
This situation takes place in a car with two children, a boy and girl, along with their mother. In the beginning, the mother says “Okay, here we are second to last day of vacation and here we are having a meltdown on what movie to watch in the car”. In the back you can see the children crying. Then she points the camera at the boy and says “will it be McQueen” and laughs a little, then moves the camera to the girl and says “or will it be Toy Story?”. Then she asks the boy what he wants to watch and laughs at him, she continues to laugh and says “Oh we’ve had such a good vacation”. Then she tells the children they won’t watch a movie if they can’t decide on a movie to watch and continues to laugh.
The father arrived at the office at 3:55P.M. and Hokulani arrived at 4:00 P.M. the father brought his son another racing toy car. While the father was assembling the toy car, Hokulani snacking on cheese and cracker. He told his father that it was his brother’s birthday that day. For less than ten minutes, the toy car was set up. The father handed Hokulani the remote control. However, Hokulani did not learn to control the racing car. As a result, the car moved slowly or stuck underneath of the table. The father took over the remote to control the movement of the toy car. Hokulani set up a barrier for the racing car by placing cardboard game boxes next to each other. After a while of trying to control the car, Hokulani could not make it run up
It was a cool and crisp spring afternoon. I was eleven and had just returned home from school, which I despised at the time. I was so excited to play outside with all of my neighborhood friends. So I bolted inside, threw my backpack down, and ran into the garage to put on my lovely pink and blue skates. I then skated down the street about nine or so houses to my best friend Brooke’s house. I rang the doorbell and her mom answer the door. I asked, “ Hey Mrs. Amy! Can Brooke and Madi come out to play?” She replied, “Oh sorry Honey, they are not home right now, they are at another friends house.” I said “Okay, thank-you,” and went on my way. I then proceeded on to my friends George and Elizabeth’s house. I rang the doorbell and their big, slobbery lab came barking at the door. Their dad answered and I asked if they could play. He told me that they were still at school and if I came down later, they could probably play. I said okay, and made my way back to my house. Then I stopped. I came to Aaron’s house and thought to myself, I guess I could ask him to come out and play. So I skated up to his red front door and waited for him to answer. I heard heavy footsteps making their way down a staircase and the door opened up, revealing Aaron. Aaron was kind of the odd one out in our neighborhood, so I thought it would be nice to include him. So I asked him what I had asked the last two people who had shut me down, and he said yes! I finally had someone to play with and I was thrilled.
Thinking back to my childhood, I always remember having a dog at my side. Ever since I was born I had my sidekick Sparkey. At the age of 13, Sparkey passed away and left a void in my families life. No new dog will ever replace Sparkey but, after a couple months, it was time to move on. On the way home from a soccer tournament one day my dad and I were talking about what it would be like to get another dog. We decided that it was something to consider. Before going home we stopped at the pet store to just take a look but, little did we know we were going to find. It was time for a family meeting.
