For my paper I have chosen to analyze the movie “To Kill a Mockingbird.” This movie is based on the novel – by the same name – written by Harper Lee. The story has two major plotlines. One follows Jem, Scout, and Dill as they try to uncover the secretes behind the infamous “Boo” Radley. It’s only at the end of the movie that we learn “Boo’s” real name to be Arthur, and that we discover he actually tries to protect people, as he saved Jem and Scout’s lives. The other major plotline, and the one more relevant to this class, follows Atticus Finch, Jem and Scout’s father, as he tries to represent Tom Robinson. The film Gallipoli takes place during World War I's Gallipoli campaign in 1915. The two main characters in the film are Archy and Frank. Archy and Frank are from Western Australia and they both enlist to fight in Gallipoli. Archy is an extremely fast runner who meets Frank at an athletics competition. We can see from the beginning that Archy is eager to join the war. After being turned down because he was underage, he goes to Perth, anxious for someone to accept him into the light horsemen. Frank, however, is skeptical about Australians wanting to join the war. He tells Archy that it's "not our war to fight". Despite this statement, Frank eventually joins up into the Infantry.

Shawshank Redemption. The word ‘redemption’ in the title of this film indicates that someone is going to be redeemed. The word ‘redemption’ can have many meanings: being saved from sin, the action of regaining possession of something in exchange, or being given a second chance. Personally, the word redemption means that you get the chance to make something wrong into right, to get a second chance to make up for your mistake in the past. I believe that if you had done something wrong, the acceptance of what you have done and who you are, is also a part of redemption.

Throughout history, we have always wondered what it was to be back in time. World War II is one those events that many people wonder how it was back then in that time period. There have been movies that have done a good job in replicating these past experiences.

'Saving Private Ryan' by Steven Spielberg Saving Private Ryan is an epic war film directed by the world-renowned Steven Spielberg. The movie received several awards including five Academy Awards for best cinematography, best director, best effects, best film editing and best sound, it also picked up other prestigious awards. The first twenty-five minutes are a flashback to the storming of Omaha Beach on D-Day. Through his unique uses of proxemics, camera angles, costumes, special effects, editing, sound, colouring, props, events and characters Spielberg has made a shockingly graphic and unflattering war movie.

The movie that is being reviewed and analyzed is Fight Club, which stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. Fight Club is in a genre on its own, but falls into the categories of action and mystery. We will be looking at the subdivisions of plot, character, setting, and focus. By analyzing these points of the movie we can see why Fight Club belongs to the certain genre it is placed in.

Forrest Gump, the main character, is a simple, slow-witted man with a low IQ, but Forrest has good intentions. The movie which is also named Forrest Gump concentrates on Forrest through thirty years of misery, placing Forrest within historical events of history and in pursuit of the only love, Jenny. Despite Forrest's naive nature, Forrest lives anything but a restricted life. Forrest impresses everyone by some powerful football skills, fighting in Vietnam War, and by creating a business of shrimp fishing.
