C. I agree because America is a place where people can defy the odds against them and achieve greatness. Also, students with no prior acquaintance on the matter would be more open to learn, rather than those who already have an opinion. To say they couldn’t do it would be prejudice and this is not supported in the educational field.

a. I'm big on putting the onus on the student to be responsible for his or her own education. I have the ability to teach 9th graders this year and I really want to cut the cord from the dependence of their mom and dad. I believe in autonomous learning and in order to do that the kid has got to be spokesmen for their own education.

b. I will primarily engage students in critical thinking by asking students higher level questions, whether that be in general discussion, in bellwork, or through document based questions.

My first day as a seventh grader was crazy. Once I got off the bus, I walked into the building and found myself not knowing what to do. So, I just followed the other kids to see where they were going. After following them, I found myself in the gym. Everyone was talking to their friends and comparing their schedules to see if they had any classes together. I looked to see if I could find any of my friends from last year, and fortunately I did. They were sitting on the other side of the gym at the top row. I walked up the bleachers stairs and sat by them. I had not seen some of them since the last day of sixth grade. Then, I saw Mrs. Grieb and Mrs. King come up to give us a first day of school speech.

Incoming college freshmen undoubtedly have a ton of important questions about school. While all of their questions should be addressed, there are a few that carry more weight than others. The following four questions count among the most important that these students should answer before they start school.
