Deej Logan was just like any normal high school girl. She woke up on her first day of school and combed her hair, picked out the “perfect” outfit and headed out the door. What she didn’t know is that after that day nothing would be the same. Nothing that day seemed to be going right. At school drama was swarming all around her, not exactly what she hoped the first day would be like. By the time the last bell of the day rang she was more than happy to get out of that school. She drove home as quickly as she could but as soon as she got home she realized that she had forgotten to pick up her sisters. “Great.” She thought sarcastically as she sat back down in her car and drove off. Just then she pulled out her phone to message one of her friends about her awful day. That one decision changed everything. Before she had a chance to send the message Deej veered off into oncoming traffic and was killed on impact.

Once the half-term holidays have ended, a new girl, Lauren arrives to the school and all the boys, including Joe, have their eyes on her. Soon Joe and Lauren become best friends. Until Joe comes home one day and finds out that his Dad is holding a massive party. This only upsets him a little, due to his father not spending any time with him. Sapphire then shares that she had seen Lauren on TV before. Soon enough Joe found out that his father had decided to pay Lauren, in order for he to befriend Joe. Joe then decides to run away from home.

Even though boys were the last thing Emmy had on her mind she decided that she would. They fell for each other right from the start. After months of being inseparable Emmy finds out that she is pregnant. When she finally gets her nerves up to tell Art, he denies that it is his baby. When Emmy is three months pregnant on Thanksgiving, Art told her that they should maybe not be together anymore. Emmy has to drop out of high school and go to a teen mother's school, completely devastated her. She had an eight year plan and was in the Project Hope Program that would pay for her schooling and everything. Emmy has no one to help her--her mother is an alcoholic, the guy she thought loved her only cared about himself, and her friends became ashamed of her. The only one Emmy had now is her baby Rosie, but Rosie really just had her. She will not give up because of one obstacle in her path. Even though it will be hard to go on with her plans, Emmy is determined to succeed. (15)

she went to the store while kevin was sleeping so that she doesn’t have to go later in the afternoon she came back and kevin was awake she said,”Can you help me get the food from the car? oh and get an umbrella so that it doesn't get wet” “ Yes mom” replied kevin when they were done getting all of the food they saw that some of them got wet but at least they were all in a plastic case. Everyone in Welch doesn’t like newcomers. Jeannette and Brian were enrolled in schools there and Jeannette’s mom didn’t’ have any of their records from Phoenix so they go to the principal to talk and the principal asks them very simple questions to see their intelligence. However, it does not work out very well because of the accent of the principal. After trying to figure out what the principal was saying they end up in classes with other kids that have learning disabilities. The first day of fifth grade for Jeannette was terrible for her. Jeannette got beat up from a girl named Dinitia. Dinitia would bully Jeannette everyday. Jeannette knows that her mom and dad can’t help so she tries to befriend Dinitia. Jeannette then sees the good side of Dinitia, and tries to be friends with her. Jeannette then sees Dinitia scaring a dog away from a kid and Dinitia befriended Jeannette. Jeannette’s parents decide to go to Phoenix to get what they left behind. The first day Jeannette’s parent are gone Erma calls Brian so she can fix his pants. When Jeannette goes to check on them she sees Erma touching Brian’s private parts. Jeannette then screams that Erma is a pervert and Lori, who is now thirteen, starts screaming at her and fighting with her physically. Erma then locks them in the basement, which has a door to go outside, but they can’t go inside the house. When Jeannette’s parents come back Dad found out what happened to Brian. Dad acts very strangely, which made Jeannette wonder if Erma did that to him as a kid. Mom and dad’s car broke down on there way back to Phoenix so they had to take a bus back, and they couldn’t get back the stuff they left in Phoenix. Mom and Dad decide to buy their own house in Welch because of Erma. The house they bought was in the worst part of Welch. It had a leaking roof, three rooms, and no plumbing. Once upon a time in a far, far, away town, lived an ordinary girl named Rhonda k. Rhonda k was a great student. She was both athletic, and popular. She had everything going for her except one thing. That one thing was that she had an enemy named Wonita Weisenberger that always wanted to bring her down or be better than her. Rhonda k and her best friend Dorinda never let this happen. When they finally returned home from lunch D was already asleep in the car for her nap time. She usually wakes up around one-thirty, and her snacks are made for her before she is up. Her favorite snack is applesauce so her mother normally put a little bit extra for her with a side of whole grain crackers. As Cole Johnston's alarm went off at 6:30am he started his day off as usual and went down to the courtyard and started to Sketch the big old oak tree in the middle of the courtyard. As usual he sketched for a hour and a half,but something didn't feel right,he looked at his phone and saw it was 8:45. Those lies that includes in the drifted relationship of the sisters, as April didn’t know Cheryl was a prostitute that had an alcohol problem and most of all a son. The truth about Cheryl’s secret life coming forth affects April a lot, because Cheryl later takes her own life as she knows April doesn’t know her identity.

An electronic beep of an alarm clock begins Crystal's day. She wakes up, groggy, swinging her legs to the edge of her bed while rubbing her shoulder. The cold wooden floor against her feet sends small shivers up her back, as she walks across the room to her dresser. She thumbs through her shirts in the top drawer, quickly deciding on a black stone wash tee. She spends even less time choosing her pants, grabbing the first pair of pants in the bottom drawer, dark blue skinny jeans. In the bathroom she quickly showers, styles her hair, and does her make-up, making herself look presentable for her job.
