Business Communication Course Analysis

Explain the importance of using correct grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, spelling and conventions in business communications.

Reflecting on this course over this semester, there have been many lessons learned that will be valuable, as we enter the business world. Our first lesson was to learn to work together, as a team, to prepare a short memo, long memo, letter, and email for use in the business world. This is a lesson that will experience many times as we do our daily work. Punctuation and grammar are so important to present to the client and other organizations that we are professionals. It could mean the loss of a sale or acquiring new business. It’s like dressing for work; looking professional or unprofessional.

In the discussion of communication and care one will be discussing the qualities of interpersonal skills and written communication in sports. This essay will explain qualities that a sports player or coach may need to progress in their career. One will also be looking at the positive and negatives that reside around having these skills and how to keep balance between the two. The author will also be discussing the different models of communication and how it can be used as an approach to handle a situation and even interact easier with pupils. Some of these interpersonal skills a coach could use is listening skills, reflection and even social awareness where a coach would have to make a difficult decision between his pupils.

After reviewing several different virtual organizations I elected to go with Kelsey Middle school for my Organizational Communications Analysis. I chose Kelsey Middle School for this assignment for several reasons. One, I have two children who just left the middle school for high school. Two, I went to college originally for middle school education. And three, My wife is currently an educator herself, so educational clinics are strongly a part of our everyday life.

The study consisted of Preschool aged students. Three preschool three-year-old aged students including the focus learner were selected. This study will focus on the focus learner results. Being that my focus learner works well on her own or in small group settings, at times her fellow classmates were invited to join the lessons.Students who participated in this study verbal ability ranged from low to medium skill level. In particular, my focus learner communication skills ranged from low to medium. The focus learner, Mindy, receives occupational and speech therapy five days a week. She is suspected to be on the autism spectrum and is currently being evaluated.

Business Communication 2205 has allowed me to gain perspective on different criteria and elements that important for effective communication. For example, being introduced to the PAIBOC model has become an important tool in my communication skills as it assists me in the organization important information and details for the construction of a message. Along side the PAIBOC Model, I have gained insight on the importance of knowing your audience. For written tasks within and outside of this course, I have found that completing an audience analysis guides me in the direction of including relevant information that will be of importance to my audience and have them engaged in the message I am proposing. Additionally, being taught the different component included in creating positive and negative messages has become of value to me as I can use these new tool when creating a professional resume/cover letter, conducting an email to a superior as well as creating messages that approach

The dumpsters they were going to deliver were still tied up, and they only had one available. This created a huge problem and we thought we may have to reschedule the pick up. Business communication is abound in today's society. The ability to communicate has always had its advantages, with its rich history, and traditions, modern business communication is valued as a modern day concept. Business executives rate the ability of business communication skills as among the personal factors necessary in gaining a job. As stated by Hynes (2005)” effective business communication is the key to planning, leading, organizing, and controlling the resources of the organizations to achieve objectives” (Conrad & Newberry, 2011, p112). Before I enrolled in this class, I had come to the realization that business today is the hub of economic development. Business communication as a skill, on the other hand, is the main tool to success in the field. Therefore, these two factors were my greatest motivators to taking this course. I have not been in a business communication class before, and my hopes and expectation of taking this class were very high. However, one of the things on my mind then was that if I successfully completed this course, I would be a step closer to achieving my dreams in business. Business communication class has been a journey that I enjoyed every bit of the process with the many activities involved and most especially the project. The following is a recount of every aspect of the course that made the course a success.
