Do you think you could survive a plane crash? I read the book Hatchet and the main character did just that. After the plane crash Brian went through more obstacles but he has survived all of them. One of them was getting attacked by a moose and right after that he got hit by a tornado and that made him stronger. The second one was trying to make a raft and that showed him to never give up. On day 1 it was really hard for Brian but on day 54 it got easy because he has made a lot of changes through day 1-54.

Bear Grylls once said “Survival can be summed up in three words Never Give Up, that's the heart of it really, just keep trying.” Skills can be used in everyday life; math skills when you are at the grocery store or restaurant, and grammar skills when addressing people. Another set of skills that can be useful are survival skills if you are stuck in a life or death situation. In the award-winning novel, “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen, Brain has to learn how to use his tools to survive in the for example how to uses the fire as guard, how he strives to kill the animals, and how the tools help him kill the animals.
This book, called is about a survival story of young boy, Brian. Before I read this, just looking title on its cover, I've thought it may be about a murder case because hatchet is a kind of an ax. So I was a bit frightened and start this book with anxiety. However, the book was about a young boy whose name is Brian Robeson and he had left alone in Canadian wilderness owing to an accident.
Brian Robeson a 13-year-old boy from New York is the main character of Hatchet by Gary Paulson. The reason Brian is making this plane trip to Canada is because his parents had recently become divorced. His parents’ splitting is the main cause of his instability. At first Brian shows us his fear, frustration and anger. By the end of his experience of being in the wilderness most of those characteristics had changed. Brian does not only learn lessons about survival in the wilderness but life in general.
First and foremost, the story “Hatchet” has a significant turning point. Brian was flying in a plane to meet his father in the oil fields of Northern Canada when the pilot had a heart attack. Because the pilot had a heart attack, Brian was forced to crash land the plane. Then Brian landed in the wilderness and has to survive with a 2 dimes, a quarter, 2 pennies, a nickel, a hatchet his mother gave him, and himself. Brian will have to make serious choices in order to survive this frantic turning point in “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen. At first Brian thinks that he can't do anything and that he is weak, but later on in the story he figures out that he is his most important asset and that encourages him to survive this tragic event.
Do you think you would survive by yourself in the middle of the woods for 54 days? The question that I asked you is because of the novel Hatchet and this novel is written by Gary Paulsen. Out of all of the things in the story that stood out to me was the AHA moments because I think they help brian the most. The two biggest AHA moments was when he had to put his food up higher and that he can't be lazy.

The book I read for my I.R. is Escaping the Tiger. It’s about two girls, a boy, and their parents and how they have to cross a fast moving river without being shot by the Loas guards. They have to cross the river because they can live a free life on the other side where Thailand is. As they are crossing the river, they lost all of their stuff. When they get to the helpers house the helper could not help them. Because they had no sign of identification. They had to start over and get a new job, and jobs are really hard to
The film Hail Mary tells the story of the virgin birth. It is told from a modern setting where Mary works at a gas station owned by her father and Joseph is a taxi driver. Life of Brian built its story on a satirical parallel of the life of Jesus Christ; he is born the same day as the messiah and therefore gets mistaken for being him. While both of these films have religious meanings behind them, they in no way aim to be disrespectful, make fun or take away from the biblical stories.
