Since its foundation, the philosophy and business model that Blake Mycoskie enforced in his company, has truly made a name for the company and himself and today, the way TOMS do business, speaks of social responsibility. Mycoskie created a vision where the company give a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair it sells; he named it the “buy one give one” campaign. For Mycoskie, the ability to make the company profitable is just as important as social responsibility. As he explained in an interview with CBS News, he felt very motivated to help communities in need after he learned that many kids were not able to attend school because they did not have shoes, and also because diseases in many countries are transferrable through the soil
