Art in general is a form of expression. Individuals use art to express emotions, passion, or make a statement. Society can have an impact on how an artist chooses to express his or her sentiments. The beauty of it all is that interpretation is what makes art so unique. The same piece of art can mean so many different things due to who is looking at it. Just like everything else, art changes with time. There has been different eras in art that have impacted society as we know it.
Most artists express themselves through their work: their choices of creative projects, their development of projects, and the individual inner artist as an underlying basis for their work. All artists create with pure devotion to esthetically pleasing an audience, a client, a customer or ultimately aesthetic pleasure for a viewer or listener.
Art is something we use every day of our lives. It is included in almost everything. Artists express their emotions and feelings in their art work because that is an artist’s job. In order for an artist to create great art, they need knowledge and empathy to make their art work meaningful.
Many art forms contain strong messages and emphasise the particular beliefs, values and opinions held by those who produce them. Art is the purging or release of emotional tension within us. Art completes what nature is unable to finish; expressing the author's emotional power through imaginative or technical skills such as photography, painting, performing art and media. Centuries of art have been explored through Political, emotional, beauty and cultural traditions, which have impacted generations. Some artists produce their ideas from their own personal imaginings, private struggles and strong emotional visions. Artist such as Barbara Kruger and Bansky deeply dive into the emotional, political side of the art world. There pieces were effective
Art has always been considered the effervescent universal tool of communication. Art does not require a concrete directive . One sculpture, drawing or written creative piece, can evoke a myriad of emotions and meaning . Artistic pieces can sometimes be considered the regurgitation of the artist's internal sanctum. In Richard Hooks graphic painting,Adoption of the Human Race, the effect of the imagery, symbols ,color and emotional content projects a profound unification of a spiritual edict.
The artists production of work; use of materials, representation of thoughts and ideas, and artists philosophy are all major aspects of the art making practice. Art reflects immensely personal aspects of the artists world. Raw, uncensored imagery and viewpoints are expressed through their art making. Many artists use art as a coping mechanism in order to handle and overcome suffering they experience within their personal lives. In many cases, art can almost serve as a biography of the artist.
In many minds art is, art. However, when you take a deeper look you will notice even the slightest flick of the hand while holding a paintbrush can give a piece a totally different meaning. When comparing, and contrasting artists’ work it is very important that you are visually literate. In many cases art is not appropriately appreciated due to only seeing the surface, and in some cases ethnocentrism.
Visual art, while it doesn’t have words, can have a meaning and message that the artist is trying to reveal. The “style, genres, modes of representation, iconography, media, personal manner, and format” of art pieces are what help the artist express themselves and present the rhetoric (Meltzoff 27). An artist presents what they are trying to communicate through their piece. They make the conscious decision to employ strategies “such as color, form, medium, and size… not simply for the purpose of emotional discharge but for communication with an audience” (Foss 305). The artist uses these strategies to their advantage so their viewers can understand the message they are trying to get across and the emotions they put into the piece.
Art is a reflection of emotions and ourselves, like looking into a mirror and seeing your reflection,
Emotional Artists Throughout history, artists have used a variety of ways to convey their emotions. For many, art can be an outlet, allowing them to express to the public a mental state in a certain period of time. Emotions can greatly influence the products of our creation, and in turn, transferred onto the audience. They can bring sadness to what could otherwise be a pleasant scene, such as a peaceful forest, in Paul Cézanne’s
At least one piece of art has more than likely spoken to your soul or at least produced a feeling. This ability presented by powerful masterpieces is how artists are able to portray emotions to their audience. Portrayal of feelings through works of art has not always been the main objective for artists. Perceiving the passions of an artist was eventually recognized as a style of painting known as “postimpressionism” thanks to Vincent Van Gogh, a brilliant psychopath. Vincent Van Gogh was one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century because of his ability to portray emotions through paintings, create a new understanding of creativity
A work of art can capture a moment in a person’s life. When observing art it’s almost like a snapshot of a brief point in time. The artist tries to create this specific point, and within this creates a story or meaning. The art has something to say and the artist wants you to react or take something away from this experience. The reaction is the function of the specific work of art. Whether it’s a favorable or awful reaction, the viewer still walks away changed.
Art is a collection of artworks that reflects a message for the audience to interpret. Each piece of artwork is expressed in different forms that communicate an individual’s thoughts and emotions to another person. Every artist has their own individual style which makes them different from the rest. Although artists have similar styles, viewers have their own interpretation when they are analyzing a piece of art in depth. Philosophers claim the uniqueness of art comes from all the creative ideas in one’s mind. Nietzsche believes the appearance of objects matters more than reality of objects but Dewey would disagree.
The area of art is popularly known for heightening emotions, challenging stereotypes, and ultimately providing insights into how individuals view the surrounding world. The artist and the observer time and time again see pieces in overwhelmingly different ways. Individuals may wonder why this is so. What could possibly create such a drastic change from one perspective to another? When it comes down to it, experiences are the answer. The artist and the observer have different
