This song is great for numerous reasons. In the opening of the song there is a drum solo played by Joey Kramer. The solo is followed by a main riff from Joe Perry, repeated for a short time, and then is played throughout the song in after about two or three stanzas. In the song a well heard beat by Joey Kramer on drums is played which makes me want to tap my foot to the song. The chorus which consists of the song title “Walk This Way” is well known by many and is one of the best parts of the song. There is a great melody in the song and a guitar solo in the middle of the song played by Joe Perry that makes me, and most people familiar with the song, want to either learn how to play or air-guitar to. This song also has a medium tempo that makes people want to nod their heads to or dance. I Some of the lyrics that stood out to me was, “I took a big chance at the high-school dance…” This part of the song caught my attention because I noticed how he was talking about his past life and a brief description of his high-school experience. The last lyric that stood out to me was, “I was a high-school loser, never made it with a lady…” This intrigued me because of how he admits to how bad he was in high-school, but is comparing his past self to himself now as a superstar. Steven Tyler’s lyrics stood out to me and made the song much more interesting. “Walk This Way” is one of Aerosmith’s greatest songs and I
I really loved the idea of finding a song about Gatsby, because he is the main character and his life is so interesting. This song really represents what Gatsby is thinking about how he feels. In the song it says “You held me close against your heart” then it goes on to say “Then one day he took you away”. This explains to us what Gatsby feels about Daisy all his life then someone (Tom) took her away. It says, “My life has crumbled since you’ve gone, somehow I must carry on.” This is like Gatsby not knowing how to live life without Daisy and he does not know how to start life again without her. In this quote, it explains how much Gatsby truly wants Daisy but he knows he cannot meet her expectations (money). “Gatsby chased the future. He wanted
My story has a meaningful story behind it. The story is deep for me and even for the artist and probably for many other people. Hearing songs like this can inspire you. It inspired me to be thankful for the people in my life. One day they can be here the next they could be gone. You never know what’s going on in their lives.
This single starts off with a brief instrumental introduction then lead singer Steve Perry starts singing verse one. Verse one reveals that the singer is lonely and is missing his lover. While he is one the road with his band, he can not spend time with her and can only talk to her through the phone.
The lyrics really spoke to me. Every word coming out of his mouth was not only musically pleasing but gave me a sense of belonging. That was a reoccurring feeling in Jason’s concert, which was the feeling of belonging because he was singing about topics that I saw happen first-hand in my life. This song also has a strong rock influence like many of Jason’s other songs. Without knowing the lyrics completely his music is still easy to pick up on and to sing along to making for an even better concert
To start off, I really enjoy the beat that Bryce uses on this track. This song features an upbeat rhythm, and the lyrics compliment the beat. The entire song is supposed to deliver a nostalgic feel to the listener. Throughout the song, He incorporates popular themes from his childhood into the lyrics, and the music video features these themes throughout. For me, I think the nostalgic theme works well with this song. It provides a happy, carefree feeling to the listener. When I listen to this song, it personally brings back feeling and memories from the summer I was shown it. Because of this, I believe the nostalgic theme of the song is a good fit. Another reason this is good music is because of the lyrics. These lyrics break away from the typical stereotype that is expected from rap/hip-hop music. It seems that recently, few popular songs have lyrics with meaning. Most feature lyrics that will appeal to the masses to sell the most records. This is where Bryce Vine differentiates himself from these artists. His lyrics share stories and experiences from his life, and are very personalized for the listener. I recently went to one of his concerts he had in East Lansing, and when he performed Sour Patch Kids, the entire crowd was singing along, and was brought together. This experience exemplifies what Bryce Vine’s music is all about; connecting people and delivering quality
"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" which was their biggest selling single to date; it was released on the soundtrack with Armageddon which Liv Tyler, Steven Tyler's daughter (“Aerosmith” 2006). Aerosmith won its first Grammy with "Janie's Got a Gun", which was also in Pump, which won Best Rock Performance by a Duo or a Group with Vocal (Schlesinger 2008). The top-grossing tour of the year was Nine Lives, which won two Grammys and was number one on the charts (“Aerosmith” 2006). Toys in the Attic, which remained a top seller for years, lead Aerosmith to superstardom, Toys in the Attic included "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way" (Lowe, 2004). Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and then with Honkin' on the Bobo came back to their blue roots (“Aerosmith”
What I personally like about this song is the way I interpreted it; I’m too young to know what love truly is, but seeing the way people talk and sing about falling in love is truly beautiful in my perspective. Aside from the message, I’m truly just fascinated with Frank Sinatra's voice and how a single man can leave such a huge mark in our music
The song was written before Aerosmith became popular and famous. Since they were starting out as a new band, Aerosmith had to put up with many things. The critics and press berated their music and it was a hard for the band to reach celebrity recognition ("A classic? Dream on"). However, as Steven Tyler acknowledges, they had
Vanessa Machado MUL1010 8:25AM Aerosmith Rock 'n roll has been in the American culture since the 1950s, having roots from various genres such as blues, rhythm and blues, and jazz. One of the most popular American rock bands, and one of the best selling, is Aerosmith. This band was the top hard rock band of the 70s. "If you set foot in a high school parking lot back then, the verbose back-alley numbers on 1975's Toys In The Attic and 1976's Rocks were inescapable." Says RollingStone.
The song is a reminiscing of the past. The past here is not only here not only consists of one's previous actions and memories but also to the aspirations and dreams that one uses to have. The song symbolizes the realization that after growing up and realizing that you don't quite live up to the ideals that society tells you should.
This song just has a way of describing how I felt after my first breakup and making it into great hit on the radio. So, anytime someone sees me driving around town, I will forsure be listening to country radio on full blast, unless it’s early in the
When many people think about country music, they hear the voice of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash. According to the Rolling Stone in 2014, “I Walk the Line” by Johnny Cash, is the number one country song of all time. Johnny Cash has many top songs, but “I Walk the Line” is considered his greatest one. Cash wrote “I Walk the Line” in 1956. Johnny wrote the song as a love letter to his first wife, Vivian Cash. I Walk the Line was the start of Johnny Cash’s stardom. The summer of 1956 was when Johnny started performing the song. Johnny was the new talent in town with his very unique, deep voice. Johnny is the influence of many musicians. “I Walk the Line” made both the pop and country charts when it came out.
I chose this song because in my point of view this is a fight song. Take me to church is a song about the perception of the church, or any powerful institution such as government, about intimacy and sexuality, whatever the orientation. However the song focused in the people with relationships with the same gender. I feel connected with the song because I have a sister who is lesbian, and sometimes I see how bad are treated on social media just because of their choice. People badly judge them by stating “what kind of parent they can be” or “ This is a blasphemy for God”. Sometimes people do not realize that in every community are good people but also bad people. I’m a religious person, and I could sound rude but I do not support them, however, I’m not against them, I do not judge them like the rest of the people because is their live and not mine. I like this song because it motive people to fight for equality , so they can not be longer cruelty judged by society.
This song is about have enemies, you wanting it all, going from the bottom to the top and getting everything, being the person who gets it does and doesn’t stop or quit till there goal is met. This song means something to me, yes because of it being apart of WWE and WWE being pretty much the biggest thing in my life, right along with music, tattoos, and piercings, but anyways, this song is also a thing I can go to when I need to to help me to keep going, there's just something about it that keeps me motivated.
Something in the song awoke an exuberance in my brother, Spencer and I. We would jump and dance on the couch during the fast parts, and sway and spin during the slow. The lyrics were exciting, but also really tragic.
