In my last two years of high school, I worked part time at Kroger. After one month of working as a cashier, my manager recognized my leadership and quick learning abilities and promoted me to customer service. From there, I took on more responsibilities and received another promotion to manager of all of the front end operations of the store. I also took a course to become a pharmacy technician and interned at a Walgreens pharmacy for a semester.
Throughout high school, I challenged myself by taking Advanced Placement math and science courses, such as chemistry, physics, and calculus. These classes jump started my interest in pursuing a STEM related career. I also had the opportunity to take an Introduction into Engineering and an Engineering

CASTLE is a leadership organization and our philanthropy is Lemonade Day, where elementary students build a business through a lemonade stand. I mentored a child and helped them create their own lemonade stand, which was a very rewarding experience and I cannot wait to do it next year. I was also excited to be a colonizing member of Alpha Omicron Pi and I helped to establish the organization through recruitment and fundraising for the Arthritis Foundation, while forming a sisterhood here at A&M.
If I was unsure about my pursuit of engineering before I came to A&M, I was completely convinced I made the right decision to become an engineer after taking chemistry with Dr. Tak Leung. He often related his personal research to the topics he was teaching. This professor solidified my interest in engineering and research. He spoke about his humorously failed experiments and the impressively successful ones that led to several patents, which persuaded me to want to go above and beyond to learn and improve on complex engineering problems or even the most basic things.
This summer I will be taking PHYS 208 at Texas A&M as well a Creative

The very moment I decide to apply for a master program in biomedical sciences, I have concluded that pursuing a career in biomedical science is my life’s main goal.
Out of all of the skin care products in the world, your bathroom cabinet needs to be filled with products researched and designed by me. When I entered high school, I discovered my passion for selecting lip sticks, lip glosses, lotions, perfumes, and makeup foundations. You name it. After learning about the connections between the information in my chemistry class and these items, a light bulb went off! I maintained an A average in chemistry throughout the whole year! Additionally, in 2014, I became a student in the Academy of Engineering and Technology, which also heightened my interests in chemistry. In a science fair at that academy, there was a chemistry course where we made colorful slime, and during that process, I learned that I get an adrenaline rush when I am mixing different chemicals together to see what the outcome is. Majoring in chemistry at Norfolk State University will definitely prepare me for a very successful future in chemistry! My ultimate goal is to conduct research and development for chemical cosmetics. I plan to obtain employment at the greatest companies in the world such as L'Oréal and Avon.
The transition from being a child, dependent upon parents for everything, to an independent adult is one of the most stressful times a person will endure. Legally speaking, 18 is the age when you become an adult but the number doesn’t describe the responsibilities and independence you must take on. College is seen as the “big step” into the real world and many people struggle in choosing where to make their transition. I would like to take my “big step” by attending Florida Atlantic University.
Completing the Ph.D. degree in Public Health at the prestigious University of Florida would help my future endeavors in the healthcare field immensely. While attending UF, my goal is to conduct research in infectious diseases, focusing on how to reduce the frequency of their acquisition and transmission. My research would revolve around the patient’s safety; how to reduce the risk of patient’s becoming infected with diseases while in the care of healthcare professionals by looking at changes in the practices of the professionals and the facilities to reduce the risk of infections. After graduating from UF with a Ph.D. in Public Health, I have hopes of working in a healthcare facility, whether it is a private organization, a hospital, or a government facility. Ultimately, my dream career goal is to be a Public Health Program Supervisor or a Program Coordinator. Holding this title will allow me to work with other healthcare leaders on discovering ways
My attention was to search about universities and the opportunities they provide for their students. I looked for college that makes me feel part of a something big and not about me graduating from the university. After researching on a couple of colleges, I chose Texas A&M as my top university to enroll in the coming fall semester. I have always had an interest in engineering majors, especially chemical engineering, because of laboratory experiments and learning about new chemicals. I have always been waiting for the day I could become a senior to be able to apply to the university I had always dreamed of enrolling. Chemical engineering brings out one's critical thinking and problem solving skills. Texas A&M University is the best university
When I decided to become an engineer, I thought hard on what that entailed. I saw myself working on hands on projects with a skill and proficiency that I could truly be proud of. That's why after listening to the presentation for Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology in my freshman year here at Texas A&M I knew that this major was the best fit for me. The mentioning of learning how to manufacture and produce things from conception to finished product was very exciting to me. I also appreciate that the education is very application oriented rather than just teaching theoretical content. I feel that this directly prepares one for a future career in industry and this sense of job security is what really attracted me to this engineering
When I think of college I picture a beginning to the rest of my life. I want a school that will teach me how to be successful in both life and my career. A place that I can look back in life and think I made the right choice for me.
I have been interested in science and math since I was a young girl. When high school began, I had the opportunity to take PLTW Intro Engineering Design. While I enjoyed the content of the course, I was disappointed in the lack of interest and engagement many of my classmates had. Applying math and science skills to solve, or at least have a deeper understanding of everyday or technical problems, intrigues me, because I enjoy hands-on problem solving. I plan to study engineering in college, however, I realize that I need more exposure to how science, technology, engineering and math function together in the professional workplace before I determine my major of study. I expect to gain exposure and hand-on experience through the TARGET program

As a graduate student in School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, I have acquired so many skills ranging from corporate communications, public relations, brand communications, advertising, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), advanced writing, public speaking, just to mention a few.
The University of Mississippi is a second home to me, but also a place that continually challenges me on a daily basis to be better, to think outside of normal constraints, and to become a more effective leader. Serving Ole Miss as a student, and eventually as alumni, is so rewarding.
After high school, I am going to attend Texas A&M to get an undergraduate degree in public economics and after that I will pursue further education at the Texas A&M Law School. I am going to get a degree in law so that when I graduate I can be a partner in my family's law firm. For the past couple of years I have toyed with the thought of either going to join the marines or being a lawyer but in the end I came to the conclusion that becoming a lawyer was the best bet for me; three generations of my family have done it and I would like to fill their shoes and carry out tradition.
With excellent academic performance and outstanding English proficiency, I was admitted by Michigan State University (MSU), whose accounting program is often ranked as top 20 in the United States. Although excited about the fact that I am part of the amazing business school, I was totally aware of the challenges ahead of me. To quickly adapt myself to the new environment, I forced myself to step out of my comfort zone. For example, I made an effort to make as many local friends as I possibly can. Also, I spent lots of time on learning more about American culture by watching American TV shows, listening American music, frequenting local museums among others. Meanwhile, I was actively involved in various extracurricular activities. For instance, I was a mentor at the Mentorship Program of MSU English Learning Center. In addition, I was also the orientation group leader for MSU Office of International Students and Scholars. During the summer of 2014, I interned at China Construction Bank, one of the largest banks in China, as a Personal Loan Client Manager Assistant. This work experience not only allowed me to apply the knowledge I learnt at school to the real world but also taught me how to communicate with different people effectively.
Every child wants to change the world by implementing their interests into a professional career. Like many others, I still hold onto this urging reality. Since my first visit to SMU five years ago, I have discovered the amiable suburban environment along with the distinctive set of academic disciplines made a remarkable distinction upon my college search. Aspiring to study my majors upon medical and education fields, my interest to SMU ignited when I discovered the new professional pursuits of becoming an educator as well as a pediatrician hold true to SMU’s appealing double major opportunities in Early Childhood Education and Pre-Health. SMU distinguishes herself from multiple other surrounding universities by openly encouraging such breadth of sophisticated study and introducing the well-known skill sets elaborated through different subjects to be universally interdependent and pragmatic within the depths of realistic society.
