A Character Analysis Of The Character Of Scrooge

Scrooge is an overly grumpy, greedy, curmudgeon, mild, insensitive, thoughtless, dolorous, elderly man who lives in a house all by himself. He has silver, gray hair, a pointed nose, and wiry chin. He acts like a harsh, miserable, lonely, gloomy, and depressed fellow. He also was very unfriendly to those young fellows who were trying to gather donations for the poor. When Scrooge was younger, he was actually very kind and generous to the people around him. Scrooge is very inconsiderate of others, and according to the text on page one, stave one it said that “ No wind blew was bitterer than he”, and he was a person who did not believe in the Christmas spirit until a trio of ghosts shows him his past, present, and future.
According to the text the first of spirits Scrooge met was the past. When the first of the three spirits (the past) brought Scrooge to see himself in the past, it was very tragic for Scrooge. The lesson that Scrooge learns is that never let good time with family and friends pass by. A example from the text that it was tragic for Scrooge was that the text said said “ Remove me, Scrooge exclaimed, I cannot bear it!”. In the passage it states that as soon as Scrooge passed through his very own wall he said “ Good Heaven! Scrooge said, clasping his hands together, as he looked about him. “ I was bred in this place, I was a boy here.” Scrooge was actually very pleasant with the seeing his past.
